that's called PICA I think, the same sort of thing that a pregnant woman gets when she has cravings, ask your vet about it, or check it out on the web site. I have 2 Burmese who eat socks, you have to be really careful when you leave them laying around.

ROFL!!! As soon as I read your question, I knew it had to be a Siamese! The oriental breeds are notorious for eating everything and anything. Luckily they have many other redeeming qualities. Your best bet is to train this out of her with both positive and negative reinforcement. First...when she's eating something naughty, firmly say "NO!", and gently move her away." Now, what you actually want her to do next is to make a 2nd attempt. This time, firmly say "NO!" again but this time, hold her head in your hand, remove whatever she's been eating from her mouth and again move her away from the "target". Now, she has realized exactly what you don't want her to do. If she tries it a 3rd time, repeat the reprimand. At some point she should not try again. That's what you want. When she is calm and no longer interested in eating or chewing on what she's not supposed to, reward her! Give her a tasty treat and pet her. Tell her how beautiful she is and offer her a toy or a game she can play with you. Now you have associated something very positive with NOT eating stuff she's not supposed to. You have to be consistent with this. She may still be naughty when you're not around and that she will grow out of somewhat. But as long as she knows it displeases you and that when she behaves she gets treats and fun from you, she will gradually migrate towards better behavior. She is technically just a teenager so some trouble is to be expected, but this particular breed is highly intelligent, affectionate and active. The thing they want most is to love you and be with you. Give them what they want, and they will be much less naughty.
By the way...many Siamese will learn to play fetch with you. They can do it for hours and it's tons of fun for them and you. Try it out with your cat. Good luck!

My 2 cats are the same, whenever there's food close by, they're always trying to get close to it. Usually when this happens, we hiss/yell/make loud noises so they'd get the point that we don't like that. You need to try to make your cat associate with bad things when it comes near your food. But if you've been letting your cat go near and eating your food all this time, it might be a hard to change your cat's habit at this point.

Well, some Siamese are known for eating wool...and some cats like to lick plastic, photographs, things with certain chemicals that for some reason appeal to them, but it sounds like your cat is going beyond this. Cat grass is definitely worth a try, it could divert your cat's attention from the other stuff.

I would try the kitty grass you can get from a pet store to see if that appeals to her.
I would also look to her diet and get her on the best quality food you can find, maybe even going to a raw meat diet. Check out catinfo.org for diets. Also at www.littlebigcat.com Dr. Jean Hovfe has an article titled "Easy Homemade Diets for Cats and Dogs".

cats do eat grass when they're not feeling well.. a lot of siamese cats are inbred which can make them a little weird in the head, so that could be part of the problem..

omg! my cat does that too. She eats my paperwork, beans, anything she's weird but she doesn't like her wet food, which is really weird for a cat. But loves the dry food. Cats are crazy? I dont think she'll choke though dont worry the real question is how are you gonna get her to stop? i mean we?gonna get them to stop?
