by the way, that's secondary smoking and you should stay away from it for health's sake. but don't worry about your fast, it is still valid

What breaks the fasting is the white thick smoke that the smoker inhales when he is smoking.

Smell only is not going to affect your fasting but for your own health avoid 2nd hand smoking.

Regarding the comment above : “Also, if you smell food, it ia actually tiny particles of the food getting absorbed into your nose and tongue, so you'd be eating technically just by breathing that in too. Allah is confused now. LOL”

Smell is not a problem otherwise if I smell your odor means I’m eating you !! I know some are trying to be sarcastic but they appear really dumb in front of others.

Furthermore, any act you do without intention or because you forgot will not affect your fasting.

No the fast is not broken ..smoking is not prohibited during Ramadan ..it is only prohibited when fasting ..during fasting nothing must pass your lips..
if a smoker is near you you will try to avoid if you can...
as long as you are not smoking or inhaling others smoke
eat or drink knowingly and willingly then the fasting is excepted by Allah

Islam prohibits smoking at any time of the year because it does harm to your body. if you can avoid the second hand smoke then that is your obligation but if you cannot then i dont think your fast would be broken as it was not your intention to inhale the smoke.

smoking does break your fast as it enters the blood stream through your nose and mouth and alters your mood.

Who told you that? When you fast, you're not allowed to eat and drink but you can smoke if you choose to.The only thing is many smokers don't want to do that cos smoking the whole day without water, will make you thirst even more or it will make you want to drink.

Not if it's not intentionally. But you should keep yourself away from the smoke.
