God does no evil. Men do the evil. Men are not robots. Men have a free will. They choose to love or hate and God will judge all in the end.

Here it is in a nutshell:

The Problem of Evil

If God were all-good, he would want to prevent all gratuitous evil. If he were all-powerful, he could. But there is gratuitous evil (evil that does not lead to greater good). Therefore one of three things is true:

God is not all-good,
God is not all-powerful,
or God does not exist.
Take your choice.

After a lot of reading and thought, I came to the conclusion that all the traditional responses to this problem from believers were unacceptable. The worst ones are the ones who say that all evil leads to greater good, and that's why God "allows" it. Yes, tell that to the mothers who died with their children in Dachau. Equally bad are the ones who say it's all part of God's "mysterious plan" that we can't understand. Yeah. The problem is not with divine mystery; the problem is with your screwed-up ideas about the divine mystery. And how can I forget the ones who blame it all on human freedom... as if our freedom created smallpox and earthquakes.

So basically, while I still see a supreme reality/necessary being/universal creative process, I can't any longer believe that this supreme reality is personal, or conscious, or all-powerful... though I do still think it's all-good.

The problem of understanding why there is evil and suffering is really a problem about understanding God. The question challenges the very belief in the existence of God. If He is so powerful, so all-knowing if He made us, if He cares anything about us, why do we see all around us so many "bad things happening to good people"?

To understand why God permits evil, we must first realize the difference between permitting and causing. God has permitted man to have a temporary experience with evil, so that all will come to know firsthand the contrast between living righteously, or selfishly in disobedience. And, by faith we trust that God would not permit this experience with evil to last forever.

The cause of evil is sin—not only personal sin, but inherited sin. "Dying, thou shalt die" was our inheritance from father Adam. Gen. 2:17 Fellowship with God having been cut off, man’s distressed mind affected his physical health, and soon disease permeated the perfect organism.

God could have prevented sin from entering the world by programming man to be blindly obedient. But man would be no better than a robot, without true happiness. No, he was created in God’s image with the ability to love and obey by choice. Because of the vivid lessons provided by the cruel consequences of disobedience, man is learning why obedience to God is the most beneficial option.

Well being an atheist, my only logical answer to this is that People have to die and bad things are always gonna happen...there is no way to control these events. Christians are gonna say that its a test of faith, and god is putting people to the test when bad things happen. Its just funny that most of the people doing the killing have strong religious convictions connected to them in the first place. Read Sam harris' book Letter to A Christian Nation Its amazing and will really help explain questions like that more.

God will step back when people tend to try to dismiss Him in life. You don't know the relationships or the lack there of between those who get raped or beaten to death. Perhaps those people walked away from God and told Him they did not need Him. Dont blame God for the results of what people do that goes against God and His rules. Perhaps those people did not ask God for His protection before they ventured out into the world. It makes a difference if you do ask for God's protection, and not just assume you will be safe, only to find out you were wrong.

If those people who suffered and died were obedient Christians, God did not forsake them, but took them home to be with Him. Life is not about what we want, but what God wants. He is the creator of this world and everything in it, so He makes all the rules. That is His right for being supreme. We are just mortals, but God is the almighty God. People need to learn the difference between God and mortal man, and the powers that be.

God's son Jesus suffered and died for sins that He did not commit. His suffering went beyond rape and was far more horrible than anyone can possibly imagine. I myself am a rape survivor, and I do not blame God for my attack, but satan who is evil, and is the cause of my attack. Thorugh my faith in God, I survived that attack.

No one seems to care about Jesus the way they should.
Jesus has done for us humans, what none of us humans are or ever will be capable of. And that is securing a path for all man to enter into Heaven.

Instead of being critical of God, try being greatful for a change. IF eveyone obeyed all of God's laws, this world would be sin free.

There is something called free will in this "kingdom" and the next. People can chose to do good or bad according to their own mind. God would not be a loving entity and source if we had no choice as to how we lived and treated others, he would be a tyrant, and we already have enough tyrants on this earth to actually ask why God is not a tyrant......

The Adam and Eve story is one of the first stories in the Bible. Whether you believe it lierally or not, it's the story of humans being given the choice to live under God's control or their own. They, obviously, chose to live their own way, and God sent them out to live in their own world. There is also evidence that God turned over the events of this world to the devil. When satan tries to tempt Jesus in the desert, he implies that he has control over the nations and goings-on.

We had our choice. We chose to live by our rules and in our way. These things that bother you are our own doings. God can aid us when we live closer to what He originally intended. We can pray to Him and ask for help, but how could we pray against something we didn't expect? If we all lived the way He intended, none of these things would be an issue.

I hope this gives you some insight.

Why do we blame God for the failings of man? We have so many blessings, and a free will to do that which is good...yet some use that free will for evil.

You correctly note that God allows evil-doers to coexist with those who would do good. While I believe that God does at times thwart the plans of those bent on evil, He also allows many other events to run their natural course. Our time in this world is brief, and we should strive for that which is good...we should strive to "love our neighbor as oneself". The fact that some do not do that is a reflection on themselves, not on God.

Many assume that because Evil still exist today, God has not dealt with it. but, How can we assume that God has not already solved the prblem of evil in such a way that niether his gooness or omnipotence is limited? where and How can we honestly limit what God can and cannot do to solve the problem? God has already delt with the problem of all evil. And he did it in a way in which he did not condratic his nature or the nature of Man. we always assume God will always solve the problem of eveil in one single act. But the BIble says he is dealing with sin in a progressive way and the climax will come on Judgement day. if God were to call all evil to destruction at this very moment, you and I and all of humanity would go up in a puff of smoke.
God did something wonderful for us, I would like to explain by asking you a few questions.
The Number one question is do you consider yourself to be a good person?
heres a quick test to see if your good enough to go to Heaven.

Have you ever lied (even once--fibs, white lies, etc.)? Ever stolen (anything--the value is irrelevant)? Jesus said, "Whoever looks upon a woman to lust after her, has committed adultery already with her in his heart." Have you ever looked with lust? If you have said "Yes" to these three questions, by your own admission, you are guilty of breaking three of the Ten Commandments and there are seven more commandments to go. The BIble says the penalty for transfggessing his Law is Death and hell. but instead, God did something wonderful. He sent His Son to take our punishment: "God commended His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." He was bruised for our iniquities. Jesus then rose from the dead and defeated death.
Your own so-called “goodness” can’t get you into heaven any more than mine could. Jesus is the only way to Heaven. He is the "Door," the only "mediator." There is salvation in no other name, so pray something like this: "Dear God, I repent of all of my sins (confess them). This day I put my trust in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. Please forgive me and grant me your gift of everlasting life. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen."

People, it rains on just and the unjust alike. Gods word, not having it in you to bring out for you his power to protect you, is our own doing, People die, the bible says for lack of knowledge.
GOD DRAWS A LINE WHEN YOU START LIVING HIS WORD,
not before. There is protection. To his own, the ones living for him. And if something happens, its because that person did something to remove Gods covering. God gave the book
