I'm nineteen, he's seven years older. We've been good friends for three years. I love him and want to date him but he's worried about the gap. What can I say to make him feel better?

I keep saying "7 years is nothing, we were born in the same decade, just relax. Nobody can even tell we're 7 years apart."
It's just annoying. He said he wants to date me, he's just worried other people will think it's wrong.

Just tell him "let's give it a try". See what happens. Heck, after a while you may think it was a mistake. You won't know until you try.

I was 11 years older than my girlfriend and it makes no difference as long as you share similar interest. Tell him after 18 years ,age no longer matters, only how you get on with each other, the interest you share and how mature you both are. Gap what gap, if he did not know your age he would go out with you, he would not ask you how old you were first before asking you out. Some woman like older men, some older woman like younger men to make them feel younger, age is no problem until you make it one.

You are 19, so he can't get in trouble, and there is nothing wrong with an age gap when both people are adults.
