You have not said which country you sent it from. If you are in the UK, then according to Royal Mail, it should arrive within 5 days after the day you posted it.

I have lived in Turkey many years now & only 2 in 10 letters have ever reached me. I recieved a letter by air mail yesterday 3/10/06 that was posted 4/9/06 so about a month, thats about normal. Also dont send any thing by parcel, customs open every thing & either steal or trash it if its of no value.

From my experience of living in Turkey (13 years), I'd say about a week or ten days, but it's very variable. Letters from Turkey to the UK are usually faster - about 5 days. As Steve B. said, it depends very much on where you live and I agree with him that parcels are a very different matter.

Hayley is very honest. When I lived in Bodrum I got letters from the UK that took anywhere from a two weeks to a month to arrive. Everything was opened. Once we told the Post Ofice that my brother in law worked for them then we seemed to get post much quicker. Also parcels from Northern Canada then took two weeks or less & weren't opened as we had an 'Agabey' working there!

I live in Turkey and I'd say around five days, as long as it's going to a major city. If it's a parcel, it could be longer and might be stopped at a post office for customs. then the recipient would have to go and pick it up and possibly pay a customs fee.
