Recently I started getting little red bumps around the tops of my socks. I thought it was new socks until I caught fleas on my arms that left similar bites. The biting coincided with the moving of some cat owning neighbors from my apartment building. I am tired of getting bitten while I sleep, is there something I can use or take to make the fleas leave me alone? Thanks.

The cheapest thing you can do is to tell your landlord. Since you live in an apartment building, he/she is supposed to take care of problems like that.

I am a cat owner and my parents have kept cats since I was very young. I feel your pain since I am very allergic to most insect bites. The only thing you can do is bomb your apartment, but if they are coming from another apartment you will probably have to talk to your landlord(s) and have them find the source of the problem. I really can't recommend anything to keep them from biting you. Maybe you could try some OFF. Get a good cortisone ointment for the itching. Good luck

Two things.
1. have your house/apartment sprayed to kill fleas....follow up with something that you can buy in the store about every month.
2. when you go to bed, of hanging out at home, wear Avon SkinTastic (I think thats the name...it was made as a lotion but proved to be the best product for keeping bugs off of a person).

Get your neighbor evicted and those dirty cats will bother you no longer. Then try to find some professional help on getting the all the fleas in your apartment exterminated.

Tell the landlord and ask for an exterminator.
Vacuum regularly, especially if you have carpets.
Ask neighbours to have cats treated for fleas.
Use Aveno anti-itch lotion to stop irritation. Eventually the bite bumps will go away.

i used to live on the Oregon coast.. the fleas were horribly Bad... You could see them jump on you...

We used FLEA BOMBS. and bombed the house... that's the best repellent. :)

Also For your skin.. Use SKIN SO SOFT ( i think Avon's the only one who sells it anymore...) But it works GREAT for fleas and mosquitoes..

good luck.
