You don't have to be overweight to be addicted to food. If it is controlling your life, I would suggest O.A. It's not for "fat" people it's for people who can't control their eating.

I don't know how serious your binge eating is. If you're heading towards bulimia you need to speak to a professional. I've had a struggle trying to maintain sensible eating habits myself. I managed to get things more under control by thinking about why I was bingeing. It wasn't because I was hungry. I would binge because I got bored or when I was down. I've managed to break the habit by:

1. Making sure that I don't have any food in the house to binge on - I do a shop once a week and make sure that I don't go into another food shop until the next shop is due.

2. If I get bored and feel the urge to binge, I do something else entirely - a bath and a face mask, clean out a cupboard, call a friend, sort out my wardrobe - anything to take my mind off it.

3. Giving myself different treats to cheer myself up when I'm down - booking a massage, getting my nails done, wallowing in the bath. I've stopped associating misery with comfort food and that really has helped.

I hope some of this works for you!

Get a steno pad notebook and write down EVERY SINGLE THING you put into your mouth every day. Every bite, sip, nibble, taste-while-you're cooking... EVERYTHING. Try to figure approximately how many calories each item has and total it all up at the end of the day before you go to bed.

Don't eat after 8pm (drink water, though, if you're thirsty). No more sodas, fruit juices, creamy drinks, non-diet shakes, fast food. Drink at least 2 liters of water every day. Take a multiple vitamin. The majority of your food should be either protein or complex carbs like fruits or vegetables.

Try not to eat while you're doing other things, like reading, watching tv, or working on the computer. It's easy to binge and gain weight that way!

If your binging is an emotional response to problems in your life, work on the root problem. Binging only makes it worse.

Good luck!

If you are not overweight, but keep binging, then your body is craving food. So you are obviuosly not eating enough (believe it or not!). If you ate enough, you would not have the craving to binge, as your stomach would be satiated.

Have a big breakfast - porridge is good, a nice bowl of this will set you up for the day. Failing this, a good, fibrous cereal, such as all bran or weat bix will help.

Have a mid morning snack, and a mid afternoon snack, around your meals, even if you do not feel hungry. This will stop you pigging out at main meal times. A low fat muffin and some fruit is good, or a few nuts and a yogurt, something like that.

Main meals should consist of a good blend of protein and comlex carbohydrates - I like low fat cheese and salad on wholemeal bread, or brown rice with quorn or soya chunks.

If you eat like this, and drink plenty of water, you should not get hunger pangs - I find hunger pangs make me binge, as it takes our mind 30minutes to realise our stomach is full. If we keep it constantly not empty, we avoid these pangs.

If you eat sensibly and at the right time, you'll find you can eat more and still loose weight, as well as feeling more energetic all day!

This is a very mixed up question!!

If you are not overweight then you dont need to lose weight.

If you are overweight first you need to decide how much by and how long before you want it to come off- then diet and exercise.

If its the binging thats the problem then simply change the type of food you eat or get an interest that is more fun than eating.

Certain times of the day cause you to binge. Buy a bag of walnuts and eat them instead.

Drink red wine instead of beer.

In the short term keep binging - but bing on healthier stuff. Then wean yourself of that too.

Answer more qu on YA that will fill the time.

It's ok to binge occasionally. Everyone does it sometimes. But there are steps that you can take:

1. Include healthier food in your binges, such as fruit and veg.
Most fruit and veg contain "negative calories". http://www.weightlossforall.com/negative-calorie-foods-list.htm

2. Exercise. Personally, I cycle. Housework is exercise, too, you know!
