He is 71/2 weeks old. Their ears usually halfway stand up and the top half flops over. I have raised APBT's before and have never seen this. Is one just taking longer? or is this a permanent thing?

In the 5 Pits that i've owned I have found all their ears to be different. For example my little red and white female her one ear stood up and the other went sideways , my other female her ears stayed like hound ears.It could be his ear is taking longer to mature or a permanent thing.Your pup is still young. I think by 12 weeks you'll know what way his ear will stay.

Have you tried buying hair molding cream. I know it sounds crazy, but if you apply it to the outside and the inside of the puppy's ear and gently pull up over and over. It will take about two to four weeks to finally train the ears to stand up on their own. I have done this with all of my Chihuahuas. I don't know if it will work with your puppy. Also this in no way harmful to your puppy.. Make sure you look up the ingredients of the hair molding cream first. I bought mine at Fantastic Sam's(a hair place). I also bought the guard(the plastic collar that keeps the dog from scratching at the ears) from the vet.

I obtained my ears pierced at thirteen. I simply learned over 10 years later that they used an 18g. So suppose the painful approach of stretching my lobes to a 2g! simply ask em for the traditional newbie's piercing dimension.

Puppy ears do weird things, I wouldn't worry about it. If it continues for awhile you can tape it.
