I use Front Line on both of my dogs and cats .The formulas are made specifically for each species . Cats are for cats and dogs for dogs.

The formulas are very similar, but there are specific differences. I'd try to get Frontline for dogs if at all possible.

No.. not in that sense.. I have used frontline for dogs for my dog and frontline for cats for my cat.. NEITHER worked.. I did try them several times but to no avail.. I would not recommend them at all.. a waste of money.. in fact... a "rip off"
