I am so very sorry, my deepest condolences... and yes I have had a 3 dogs and 1 horse that I new were going to die and I was there IT WAS VERY SAD, but just because they are animals doesn't mean we cant cry, they are still part of the family and just like us. I wish you the best and Good Luck.

I'm sorry to hear that. I had a collie die of bloat (maybe) the very night I adopted him from the animal shelter where I work. I was devastated, so I know just how you feel.

If you have other puppies now, or are thinking about getting another puppy to replace this one, I STRONGLY recommend that you get the poor thing to the vet to figure out why it died. At least call and ask questions. If it was Parvo it could kill any other pup you bring into your home over the next six months or more. You need to know.

Just know that you did the best you could for him and sometimes these things just happen. There is a very sappy poem called "The Rainbow Bridge" that rescuers all read. Yes it's sappy, but it might give you some comfort. Here is one version of it: http://www.petloss.com/poems/maingrp/rainbowb.htm

I adopted two little sweet mallard ducklimgs about a week ago. I wasn't very fond of them in the beginning, because I had this fear that something was going to happen to them. They lived in a little, safe, secluded garden in our garden and the more I spent time with them the more I loved them. After a few days, I couldn't wait to get home to see them swim and play and quack and they followed me around and I felt as if they accepted me as their mother. They were my children and I was their mother or at least thats how it felt.

Yesterday when I came home, Donald(One of the ducklings) were all alone and I couldn't find Daffy anywhere. My only explanantion to this was that a cat got hold of him(He was the smaller, weaker one) and must have taken him when the dogs tried to fight it(The dogs couldn't get in there, so it wasn't them and they hate cats)

Now Daffy is somewhere, I dont know where and I am so sad. I had a feeling the whole day that something was going on, but I thought it was just my paranoia. I loved him dearly and I wish I knew what happened. Im so sorry to hear about your puppy. My friend's puppy, Nemo, is currently at the vet(He's been there for a week) and they are battling to keep him alive. The people who sold him to her, were very bad people and they didn't look after the animals they sell.

I'm so sorry. Mine died last Saturday. She had cancer and we knew eventually she would pass. Just didn't expect it to be so soon. It's so hard. They just seem so helpless. Be strong.
