You are probably looking for something that doesn't exist. There is no such relationship that is perfect!! No one is perfect. If you continue to wait for the perfect fairy tale you will always be disappointed.
You might be too critical of people but need to look at yourself and ask what redeeming qualities do YOU offer? Why are YOU the right person? Then when you accept that you also have faults, you can learn to accept others and find somone you are compatible with, regardless of a few faults, and enjoy a long and happy life together. Complete with ups and downs. I have been married 15 years and there are times when I don't know how I will ever make it. Then the next week we are all in love again. It's just a cycle and you have to ride the wave.
Now, that's not to say you have to put up with abuse. I am not saying that. Never. But if you enjoy the company of that person, try to focus on the positive and dismiss some of the negative because you are not perfect either.
