If this is a joke, it's only kind of funny.
If not, you're an idiot.
Get an education or maybe some COMMON SENSE?
Big dog in an apartment = bad idea !!!!!!!
People like you are the reason there are so many shelter dogs. I don't think you should have any kind of animal. You don't seem very smart.

To answer your question: No. They cannot miniaturize your existing dog. Mini breeds have been selectively bred for generations upon generations in order to achieve their smaller size. This should only be done by people who know what they are doing because often times, the inbreeding required to miniaturize a breed with magnify the breed's inherent problems.

Now for some helpful (I hope) comments:

Actually the dog is not too big for your apartment, he is just too big for YOU. Just look: YOU are way bigger than the dog, and you fit int he apartment, don't you?

I live with four big and one small dog in a tiny, tiny house. True, we have a yard to run in, but the point is, I CHOOSE to make space for my dogs. You can too, with the right mind set.

If you want to keep your dog, you need to commit to making it work. That means finding places where you can safely exercise your dog. Dog parks, etc. You will need to go on leash walks often. Obedience train your dog. Especially teach it a strong down-stay so you can have him go to his own place and stay there when you want to be left alone. Use a crate to give your dog it's own place.

If you don't want to commit to making it work, then you should rehome your dog through doberman rescue or the local no-kill shelter. Plan on leaving a placement fee to help support your dog while he is waiting to be matched to a new owner.

Remember, though, that replacing your big dog with a smaller version will not solve your problem. The amount of work involved in keeping a small dog not significantly less than the work of keeping a big dog. You still have to do all the same walking and feeding and training and cleaning up after them. They just take up less space on the sofa.

A Miniature Pinscher would be the right size and looks like a doberman.

Who is going to take your doberman?? Maybe you should have thought about this before getting him.

Well, a smart thing to have done would have been to get on the internet and look up Dobermans and to have figured out that they are way too big for your apartment. Now, you have to get rid of this dog after his has become used to you and this should never have happened. You talk like they can miniaturize you dog now???? What, you think they have some was to zap him and make him smaller??? The only way for you to get a miniature dog is to buy one, they have to be bred like that. that dont have magic powers to mini size your dog now that he is too big for you.

there is no such thing as a miniature doberman...
how they make dogs smaller is through poor breeding - selecting runts or poor nutrition..none of them are as healthy as the full size dog

A Miniature Pinscher is a dog that looks like small doberman but isnt related

give your dog to an SPCA or doberman rescue so it can be rehomed properly

You can't make your doberman mini...that is a whole different breed of dog..The Min Pin...If its to hard to keep your doberman, try finding him a good home. I had two German Shepherds for years until they both passed away. Now, I have four Chihuahuas..that are perfect for apartments. I am also a volunteer at my local no kill animal shelter.

I think you should look for a larger apartment or a house to you and your dog will have enough room to live happily.

But to answer your questions - I think the guys above did well - Minature Doberman is a different breed.

In the case of minaturizing Shih-tzus (aka Teacups) they normally take a runt of one litter and bred it with a runt from another litter - so you not only get small dogs - but dogs with a poor gene pool and a tendency to get ill often.

Seems to me you should have asked yourself this question BEFORE getting the Doberman. With thinking like that, I'd recommend NO dog until you are able to see beyond the end of your nose.

hahaha, they cant miniaturize dogs, a mini doberman is a breed of dogs, they took the runts of two liters of dobermans, and breed them until they got a miniature sized doberman

instead of falling for the fad of buying overly expensive (and often unhealthy) result of a runt to runt breeding why not just get a min pin...a toy breed of dog that looks and acts just like a doberman!
(thats "minature pincher")
