My wife did not

I'm not married yet, but my boyfriend and I talked about this as a few of our friends have gotten married in the last year. At first he thought it was silly and was all annoyed cuz he wanted to help pick it out. (in his defense, he really does have an amazing sense of fashion and knows what looks good on me) Then I explained to him that most girls want their husband to see her on the big day and think "oh my God, I'm marrying the most beautiful woman in the world."

So I made him a deal - if we got married, he could go out with me on my very first trip out to just try on some random styles at a bridal salon where I doubt I'll buy my dress. He can tell me what he likes and doesn't like (style wise) that that's it. He was more okay with not seeing it after that. In fact, I think he's decided he wants to stay out of it!!

My fiance will never see my dress until I am walking down the aisle. I wont even have it at my house.

When I was trying on dresses I did see a young man in there with his partner, but i think the whole point of the dress is to surprise him. You will be at one of your most gorgeous times and he should be surprised when he sees you.

But, if you do, there isnt anything wrong with that. I just wont be.

My husband picked out my wedding dress. My husband was actually really into the whole planning the wedding! It was so great to have a fiance (at the time) that wanted to help so much. He basically even picked out my flowers. But back to the dress, we went the weekend after we were engaged just to look to see what we were looking for, it was the first dress he pulled off the rack we keep looking and after I tried that one on (it was the first one I tried on too) we knew it was the one (I still tried more on just because it was fun) but nothing compared. So, we went and got my mom and she came back and we put a deposit on it and they put it on layaway so we wouldn't have to store it at the house. Even at the wedding he still looked at me so lovingly but this way he could focus on me and my eyes and not what I was wearing he knew what I was wearing. Also, we did our bridal portraits as a couple. We did this because we wanted lots of pictures together and instead of taking up a lot of time at the wedding we did it before the wedding so he knew what my hair was going to look like before the wedding with my dress and make-up and all. It was perfect because this way he didn't have to focus on all of the details at the wedding!! I loved it!

I let him see me try on dresses to get an idea of what he liked but I didn't let him see me in the actual dress I chose.

no but he insisted i show him a picture of my wedding dress. He's so weird anyway, typically it's not normal for the guy to see anything until the day of the wedding. He can see the bridesmaid dresses but thats about it. My fiance is just odd like that lol

Nope. I wanted to see his face, completely surprised, on the wedding day. I think grooms who have been left in the dark are more stunned by their bride's beauty than one's who have an idea of what she'll look like.

No, it should be a surprise, take your mother or best friend along, when he sees you for the first time coming down the aisle he must be totally in awe of you!

in the asian tradition the groom chooses the dress for the bride and bride chooses a suit for the groom.
whether you like or not you have to live with it. pathetic.
but if i had a chose i would choose my own and WONT let the groom see it.

I did not let him see my gown because I wanted him to be surprised! He told me after the wedding that he kinda knew what style of gown I was going to wear....because he knows me so well!!!! He so cute, my husband:))))
