Please I know it can be bit stressful but the way you put I myself won't do a thing you command. Maybe if it might be 75years ago then maybe I can understand. But the last time I checked woman have come a very long way. We are to be considered equals and some women make more money in the work place then men perhaps if you take a different approach to the situations at hand and just say for example "honey I need for you to help me out with something do you think you will have time to help me etc...... I would greatly appreciate it I personally don't have time to do it myself but I hope you can help me with this""""" Perhaps some kind words will get you with what you need. And if your quoting the bible perhaps you can also look for the commandment with
{{Honor thy wife}}and in return {{Honor thy Husband}} Good luck and pray for guidance to help you find the words for your wife's understanding.

Look I can understand if she is totally disregarding you, thats not right and you shouldn't marry her. The way you put the question though is cause for alarm. You were clearly not raised in ahome that modeled a true Christian marriage if you thihnk serving you is what she is supposed to do.
i am sorry but you are not ready for marriage yet, either because you have to fix what you thihk marrigae is or because she needs to respect your desires more.
If you are looking for someone to serve you, check out the personals on alt.com or bondage.com.

My God!! How many men on here really need to get a dog versus a wife??
God also said that married couples need to serve each other. So instead of trying to command, why dont you try and help out?

Good for her. Marriage is about giving and commitment. Sounds like you don't need a wife but a maid or butler.
You are equal in the marriage, and you should love your wife as Jesus loved the church. The scripture you are referring to says,
Passage Colossians 3:18-21
18 Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.
19 Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them.
20 Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.
21 Fathers, [c] do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged.
I would suggest some counseling before making a marriage commitment. You sound bitter and angry and you haven't even said "I Do"
peace and happiness whatever the outcome....

Maybe you should stop giving her COMMANDS. You are not gonna be her owner! Her minding you doesn't make her a good wife. She is supposed to honor you till death, not be your waitress. I think you are taking the "good book" as you said a little to literally. Until you can understand that a marriage is a PARTNERSHIP between to souls who love and are commited to each other, each giving and taking, you don't need to get married, you need to get a maid.

It sounds like your wife to be has a opinion and not take crap from no one. Here is a suggestion, move to Afghanistan, you can find women there who has no opinion and will do everything you tell them to do. The book (bible) says honor thy husband (which you are not) And you should cater to her instead of the other way around cause she is going to be your queen. So instead of complaining about how she doesn't serve you, CHANGE THE SCRIPT and serve her.

She is NOT supposed to serve you, unless you wedding vows specifically tell her to do so. I believe it is stated "honor and OBEY". There is a difference.
Obedience for woman is not looked to nicely on in America. We abolished slavery, remember? Treat her as a beautiful equal. Don't you love her? Cherish her? Want to make her your and yours alone?
I think it is YOU that needs to "shape up", or you are going to push your treasure out of your life.

"Refuses to take commands". I agree with the first guy on the list here. Do her a favor. Don't marry her.

What book are you looking at? No, it does not say that. Go get a dictionary and look up the words honor, respect, and love. These evidently are things you've never heard of before.

Come out of the dark ages to the year 2006. A woman is an equal! She is not some sort of servant to do your bidding. I say good for her if she won't do it! She needs to stand up for herself. I would say she was doing herself a favor if she DIDN'T marry you.
