Tell them not to! That's how my son stopped doing it. Be persistant and they will stop.

Telling them to stop in a voice that means it! It was what worked for me and it didn't take long. All I did feel the need to get was a plastic cover to protect the seat back as the odd swipe can't be helped when they're getting in and out or getting settled in their seat. I have 3 boys and only the 2 year old does it, but he's getting the message!

Yes, it's called a voice telling them to stop kicking! My boys started this little game where they would kick the back of the seats. I actually pulled the car over once got out and told them that if they were going to kick seats then they were not going to take special trips in the car with me anymore..(they think grocery shopping / errands...etc are special trips). They knew I was serious by the tone of my voice, but I agree...it's irritating having your seat kicked while driving / riding!

yes its called pain and threatening - every time this happens, sharply hit the brakes (providing you're not on a motorway or in fast moving traffic). get out of the car, go into the back and give the toddler a massive slap on the side of the face and get back into the front of the car. Turn round and go towards home, saying that you are going to kick all of the toddler's toys into peices, see how they like it. Then when you get home and DO break all of the toys, laugh at the toddler and say it was it's own fault and give it a kick every time it cries.

I would love to know if there is something on the market for this but i doubt it. All children do it. And love to do it because they are not allowed! My 2 year old is terrible for it. It is worse on a plane when the child behind you kicks constantly! Im sure and hope they grow out of it.

Tell them to stop. If you put a "product" there, it's going to increase their interest in kicking that and making the matter worse. Move the child to the other side of the car.
