i have been having lots of contractions and back ache for 2 days with no progress and would like to know if anyone has tried using clary sage oil to induce labor and if so did it work and was your baby ok? i mainly just need to regulate the contractions because i have to have a c-section anyway. i am 37 1/2 weeks and my c-sec is scheduled for the 13th which is only 8 days away but i broke my tooth and am in a lot of pain and tylenol wont help so i would rather regulate the contractions so that my dr will go ahead and do the c-sec asap instead of prescribing me pain pills...and my dentist wont touch my tooth til i have baby...any advice ....please i'm in pain

I have known some women to use clary sage and it worked. but if you are having mild contractions and are scheduled to have a c-section you should contact your doctor and tell him whats happening, he may go ahead earlier. I was to have one at 38 weeks with my last baby and managed to get the doctor to to it a week earlier, I was having problems with the cord not working efficiently though... good luck

I understand that you are extremely unconfortable but please do not try to induce labor on your own. It is much safe for your baby if you wait until the scheduled c-section. Just continue to use orajel and over the counter pain relievers until the 13th. Even though you are considered full term, I do not think you should attempt to induce labor at home unless you are 40 weeks or more.

use your breast pump. It causes your body to release labor hormones that make your uterus contract.

Don't do anything unless your doctor advises it.
