In some respects it depends on the diet. If you are on a no/low carb diet like Atkins then the answer is probably not, especially if you are in the early stages, though you might be able to have some in the maintenance stages.
Research has confirmed that deprivation diets (diets where all pleasurable foods are banned) ultimately do not work. An important part of eating is feeling satisifed, and chocolate can help out a lot, even in very small quantities.
If you want to eat chocolate, then eat solid dark chocolate of the highest cocoa content you find pleasing, and eat it in small quantities. Buy tasting squares if you can find then, they're small (about 5 grams or 1/6 ounce each), and treat yourself to one just before lunch and late in the afternoon at work. They'll take the edge off your appetite and give you an energy boost.
Stay away from milk chocolate, candy bars, and confections (chocolates with cream, caramel, or ganache centers) with lots of empty sugar calories.
Another way to incorporate chocolate into a diet is with cocoa powder. I add a teaspoon of cocoa powder and a 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon to oatmeal in the morning instead of brown sugar. You can add cocoa powder and honey (or another natural sugar alternative such as stevia) to plain non-fat yogurt.

The key to diets is to learn balanced eating habits for the rest of your life... um, yeah definitely still working on that!! So you shouldn't cut out chocolate all together, unless you plan to never eat it again. Just make smarter choices and in smaller amounts. If you want to have chocolate make sure it's within your calorie intake for the day. Try Dark Chocolate since studies have found it's better for your heart. Lindt makes varying grades of dark chocolate, find one you like. Also weight watchers and snackwell make calorie friendly chocolate snacks too! I've found I can only buy snack size sweets one at a time. Otherwise in a moment of weakness I'll devour the whole box, just do what works best for you!

Honey, chocolate has a lot of calories for such a small yummy snack! If you're on diet don't eat it. But I'm sure that you can give yourself a treat and have some once in awhile. And I don't mean every few days! Temptation is hard! Good luck on your diet!

Cold turkey, man. It's the only way with any addicting substance. And believe me, chocolate is addicting. Don't buy the "taper off" routine: it never works. It just increases the cravings. Cold turkey.
You can put a little mayo on the sandwich if you want. LOL
Seriously, though, I have already eaten my full lifetime share of the world's chocolate, as well as the lifetime shares of several other people, presumably ones that don't like chocolate. I'm a recovering chocoholic.

Juice is terrible for you! Worse than sweets. It is loaded with calories and sugar. Otherwise, I think you are on the right track. If you are a healthy weight and lead an reasonably active lifestyle, I see no reason why you can't indulge 2-3 times per week in something sweet. But definitely replace the juice with fresh fruit or limit it to only once or twice a week.

Yes, it is allowed, but in moderation of course. Chocolate is actually good for you, it has antioxidants in it. And I've heard it to also be an aphrodisiac so maybe it could help you burn a few more of those unwanted calories ;o)
