First, have any of you been there and come back? Because if not, you would really be basing what you are saying on something else right? Like a book or a person, right? That person or book could be lieing, right?

So, how can I be so sure I am going to hell, isn't it possible that I am not going to hell, since its possible all the people and books that have told me that were lieing?

I am in the same situation my friend. I will either be going there or nowhere or everywhere. I just hope whatever it is, it will be a pleasant surprise. If things look grim, I will have to rely on my intellect and womanly wiles to save me. I imagine if anyone has died, gone there and come back, they'd be in the fundamentalist camp for sure.

Let me reassure you that all people whether Christian or non-Christian go to the Bible hell. It is mankinds common grave.
What does the Bible really teach about hell? The Bible makes it clear that the dead do not feel anything, neither pain nor pleasure.
Eccl.9:10: " For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing--"
Psalm 146:4--"His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish."
Both animals and people go to the same place at death:
Eccl 3:19-20--"For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity. All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again."
So the dead are not suffering--only in a deep sleep until God through his Son resurrects them back to life and there will be a resurrection of both good & bad people. Acts 24:15: "And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.

Jesus has the keys of death and hell. He will resurrect all who are in hell and then they will be judged--some to everlasting life and the rest will be put out of existance. God is love and would never torture imperfect humans---"Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love." (1 John 4:8)
Satan tries to paint God as sadistic and cruel. This he has accomplished through the false teachings of Christendom.

Alright, the Church got here up with the notion of hell to preserve sinners from breaking church legislation. It has handed from one iteration to the following and has received ample vigour to now have the vigour to be an overly truly position to people who suppose it in. The equal is going with demons and the satan. The human race has given those being vigour to scare folks and placed ample worry into them that they're going to do what ever they cannot to spend all of eternity on this "meant" Lake of Fire with Satan and all his demons. You query used to be God (the christian one) technically the God of Hell as he's the real author of it. Well he isn't the author of it, guy is, he will have planted the inspiration into someones brain at a few factor however it used to be guy that has fed the worry, groomed the worry and unfold the worry approximately it international vast, so no God isn't the Father, it's guy. Yet they are going to now not take that responsibly for it on account that they don't appreciate that vigour lies inside that vigour of the tongue, and sure I simply quoted the New Testament...I could also be pagan however I do recognise somewhat bit approximately the Bible, I used to be a Christian for close to 17 years earlier than I awoke to the reality. I am now not going to die in the future and pass to hell simply on account that I will have dedicated a few sin that guy makes up as they pass alongside. I am a loose willed character that chooses to worship a God and a Goddess and I have not felt loose in my existence.

Jim, this is a case of what sources that you trust and what you choose to believe as evidence.

I could sit here all day and cite sources, and you would probably not believe them.

All I can tell you is that in my life, there has been so much evidence that points to a higher power and I constantly find answers in the Bible.

A few years ago, God showed me that the first step was mine. I had to believe without evidence. I gave in on that step, conceded if you will, and found that with that small kernel of faith, the mustard seed spoken of in the Bible, God started to prove himself to me.

You or someone else may say that this is simply coincidence or just because I want to believe it. That's up to you. But the
"mere coincidences" are far too strong to be anything else.

So, as far as whether heaven or hell really exist. You have to think outside of the box on this concept. Our bodies don't go there, at least right away. So if it is merely our soul that travels (the essence of who we are), then because it leaves the human body, it may not be possible to return to the body because that connection is severed as our biological functions cease to exist. Do I have proof? no. But that is my theory.

Well hell is discribed in the bible as "Fire and Brimstone" with "wailing and gnashing of teeth", a priest once told me it was more of a being removed from the love of God.

Think of Heaven as a great party. It's the best thing in the world, everyone is invited. Pugatory (I'm Catholic, we belive in purgatory) is like standing in the lawn. You can see the party, you know you'll get there, but your'e not there yet. Hell is standing at the gate at the end of the driveway. You want to be at the party, but you can't go there. You can hear the music, but you are barred. It's that empty feeling of being so far removed from God that is Hell.

The bible briefly describes hell. There is a book,Devine Revelation of Hell, at the Christian bookstore from a person who was taken there in spirit or had a very vivid vision of hell. These things can happen and are recorded in the bible.

Oh my! I never thought that perhaps down through history that all the ego minded heads of church might have changed certain things in the bible to suit their needs. It never occurred to me that it was for our best interest that certain passages were left out of the Bible because they conflicted with the ideology of the day. I didn't realize that i was Born, raised and taught not too questions the Good book because i might find that all the changes these Holy leaders made are now starting to seriously conflict with one another. I guess i will just have to console myself in the knowledge that God loves me and if i try the best way i know how that perhaps there may be a better after life for me. As for Hell never been there, but then I have never been to China either, but that doesn't stop me from believing its real. Thanks for letting me vent. Peace to you and yours.

Let me ask you this:

If you were to die tonight, where would your soul go? Do you believe that when you are dead, that's it? Would all the universe be for nothing? You must believe in the possibility of Hell or you would not be asking the question. My question is, if there is a possibility that Hell exists, don't you think you should do what ever is possible to ensure that you do not end up there?

You don't really want a answer, you want an argument........Yes?

There are several Books written by people who state that they died and went to Hell, then were resuscitated.

Also several Books by people who didn't die, but had Visions. There is also a Film about Death/Near Death experiences.

Lastly, you could read what Jesus said about Hell. He Preached about Hell more than any other one subject, so I would submit it was an important subject to Him.

Don't be so sure -- a survey I quoted in an earlier post showed that even half of Christians don't think that atheists automatically go to hell, as long as they lived a good life. It just goes to show that deep down, they recognize how absurdly cruel and unfair their dogma is; and how paper-thin the level of their faith is. I really do believe that religion is on its way to becoming just another "lunatic fringe" element, as more and more people wake up to the truth of the Big Lie....
