If I make tea for a lot of people I use a teapot. I put an extra teabag for the cups I'm making. Make sure you don't squeeze the bags after. Cover it while it is steeping, make sure you're using good water. Steeping should take about 3 minutes.

Get yourself a nice packet of tea leaves, may I suggest Earl Gray or something similar, not tea bags. You will need a tea-pot. Boil water. Add about half a cup to the tea-pot and rinse. Let it stand. Empty the pot. Add about three teaspoons of tea and add boiling water. Let it stand for at least three minutes. Serve through a strainer, add milk and sugar to taste........ If you have no tea-pot, get tea bags and hope for the best............

Good quality tea leaves of the kind you or your guests like - if in doubt go for Assam - water boiling as it hits the leaves - let it brew for 5-10 minutes. Simple.

The secret is steeping it for the right amount of time- Too long will make it bitter.
Also using the right amount of water, too little will make it to strong, too much will make it taste like dirty water.
Sweet or not depends on the person drinking it. Also the amount of sweetness depends on the drinkers taste.

let it sit for a bit... that and use freshly purchased tea leaves/bags (not ones that have been sitting around for 2 years in your cupboard)

add fresh milk to plain sugared tea just before you serve it.

try it so you'll know, and have that big knowing smile when you serve it.
