What suits some of us will obviously not suit others, so your triggers for motivation are completely personal, they belong to you and you alone.
Action follows motivation actually. Motivation suggests movement. So your question is valid. I maintain that you cannot be motivated without having your ownclearly identified incentives. What turns you on, and what will do you some good and what differing factors will give you that feeling you are waiting for are what you need to specifically identify.
You should bounce this off a friend or relative, but then again they may be the last people to ask, they know you too well. Got a counsellor or some other coach/tutor/teacher?

I always get up in the day and feel more motivated than later in the day. For instance in the morning i will think things like.. i have the whole day to do all of this stuff so i shoudl do it today.. but then actually DOING it is the hard part.
So.. what I do is this.. make a list right away when you wake up of things you want to get done during the day. they could be very simple things.. clean a room, make dinner, mail some bills, go on a walk, etc. I check off every single item after I complete it and it makes me feel so much better and gives me a lot of wiill power to finish that list. i feel so accomplished after the list that i feel i can do anything i set my mind to it. i ususally end up doing a lot more than i intended to by just making some goals and then completing them

When I dont feel up to things I try to set myself goals and work on those life long dreams that always seemed distant, start slowly get yourself an action plan and do what ever is going to make YOU! happy in life. Keep your chin up and live life by your rules if there is something thats keeping you down then remove that something from your life if possible.
All the best

Motivation follows action. If you wait around for a "feeling," you'll never start anything or do anything. Move your body, and your mind will follow. Once you start DOING, THEN you'll be "motivated."

I pray alot and make myself do it. Most times I find that once I get started I enjoy what I'm doing and want to do a good job.

Depression doesn't pay any bills or improve future quality of life. I keep that in mind.
