The biggest disadvantage is cancer. Cancer of the lungs, cancer of the lips, cancer of the throat, cancer of the esophagus, cancer of the mouth, etc.
Then theres:
Your breath stinks, your skin stinks, your hair stinks, your clothes stink.
You cough 24/7. Your lung capacity is diminished. Your nostril hairs burn up so your nose can't filter the oxygen coming into your system. You end up a mouth breather because your nose no longer functions properly.
And then theres:
You die slowly. Your insides shrivel up and wither away over time and then you may get emphysema and live the rest of your life on an oxygen bottle.'

just for starters it gives u cancer, makes u impotent, leads to heart and lung problems and ages your skin. It's expensive, anti-social and is the biggest causes of domestic fire........
But on the flip side it still looks cool and attracts the opposite sex! Look at just some of histories smokers
John Wayne
Jimi hendrix
Winston Churchill
The Beatles
The Rollingstones
Marilyn Manroe
Led Zeplin
Now look at some of histories non-smokers:

Are there any advantages?
It causes your body to accumulate plaque in your arteries, causes many different lung diseases (emphysema, cancer), throat cancer, awful addictions to nicotine, yellow teeth, hair, nails and skin, premature wrinkling of the skin, a raspy voice, you walk around smelling like an ashtray (breath mints and cologne DO NOT mask the smell), you car stinks, as does your home....
The list is almost endless. There are so many toxins in a cigarette as well, one of which is arsenic.

too many to count. smell, health risks (so many it's ridiculous), inconvenience when you really want one and you have to find somewhere that you are still allowed to smoke, like outside in the winter when it's cold and away from people that get offended. risks to the people around you like your children. since the nicotine reacts with chemicals in the brain, there might be some long term affects to the brain with long term usage. i haven't researched this aspect of it though, so i don't know. i'm guessing. yeah...i really need to quit, don't i?

Cancer! That's deadly. Smoking is bad for your lungs and other organs. Why cause damage to your own body? When you get older you'll wish you hadn't been smoking!

When there are particular activities that one should not do, it is obvious that there is a valid reason for those recommendations. The recommendations mean that one’s health is at risk through particular activities. By engaging in activities that are said to be unsuitable for a person, one puts him or herself at undue risk. One of the activities that puts a person at risk is smoking; one is liable to get any sort of lung condition due to this habit or activity. It must be asserted that in addition to lung disorders and diseases such as cancer, one is liable to get develop other problems related to other parts of the body.
HYPERTENSION:
Indeed, smoking is considered to be one of the most risky of all habits. This is because it is liable to turn one’s life around. Smoking has been known to cause one internal problems like hypertension. This is because there is a link between hypertension, cholesterol and smoking. The relation basically lies in the fact that smoking elevates the blood pressure, and increases anxiety through adrenalin increase. The adrenalin increase is caused by the brain through a number of chemical changes. The changes that take place are still being studied. However, the point is that smoking causes one’s activity within the body to be pumped more than usual through adrenalin and other chemical mechanisms. This may lead to a load on the heart, and also lead to heart attacks.
Smoking impacts the lungs, larynx, pharynx, teeth, etc.
Aside from causing heart problems, smoking can result in cancer to not just the lungs but other parts of the body. It has been established that smoking causes cancer of the lips, pharynx, larynx tongue, and bladder. This is because the smoke that one inhales comes in touch with these parts.
In addition to this, smoking results in stained teeth, fingers and hair. This is because when one inhales smoke it comes in touch with these parts. Conditions such as asthma are also likely to be stimulated along with the possibility of emphysema. These may not be cancer-like conditions but they are diseases that are significantly inhibiting. While asthma can be quite a problem, as it is commonly known, emphysema can be a much worse condition to develop. This is because of the fact that lungs deteriorate significantly.
HEADACHES & INSOMNIA:
Aside from the severe conditions mentioned above, it is known that smoking can result in headaches as well as insomnia. People who are not used to smoking are commonly known to be affected with headaches and insomnia. This is because they may not really know their level of tolerance, and when they exceed their level they usually have these side effects.
OTHER IMPACTS OF SMOKING:
Long term effects of smoking include conditions such as arthritis, heart murmurs, smoker’s hack, wrinkles, atherosclerosis, arteriosclerosis, tuberculosis, loss of hearing, leukoflakia, etc. There are indeed many more items to add to this list.
STAMINA:
As far as one’s stamina is concerned, it must be said that one tends to lose a great deal of energy through smoking. Shortness of breath is common, but if one has to exert him or herself in this condition, it is considered to be dangerous. This is because a smoker is probably an individual who has not had a check up in quite a while. This means that s/he is not aware of his or her state of health; a smoker may have any other type of complication that could be detrimental to physical exertion.
One common thing that many smokers are unaware of includes the possibility of them having high cholesterol. If one has high cholesterol, smokes, and is somehow compelled to exert him or herself physically, the risks of a heart attack are elevated considerably.
