Ive suffered for 5 year now. I remember my 1st time. I was at the post office with my baby girl who i'd just had 2 month before. Suddenly i thought i was going to die. I went in shock i could hardly move. I thought oh no please dont die here not like this not with my little girl here and then got out. From then on every waking moment has been the same. I know some people say they suffer up to 10 panic attacks a day but mines seem to be constant. I really cant do anything for myself and daughter i have to rely on too many ppl who dont understand or dont want to understand what im going throught. My daughters at school and i take her but its a nightmare. Im so dizzy i can hardly walk. The sensations i feel make me breathless and unable to talk. If it wheren't for my youngest being in a buggy so i could grab hold of it i dont think id be able to go without colapsing. Ive tried so hard to help myself. Ive worked so hard trying to get rid of my anxiety ive put myself in a state of shock.

Hey.

I used to suffer from panic attacks due to anxiety and a phobia. It got to the point where I had had enough and I wanted it sotrted, but not through medication. I went to my doctor and discussed hypnotherapy. He suggested I go for it, so I looked up the numbers of national hypnotherapist organisations and contacted them for therapists local to me so that I knew the person I saw wasn't any old cowboy.

Anyway, I was quite sceptical, but the first time I went to see him we just chatted about me and what triggered the panic attacks etc and he explained how the hypnotherapy works and what he would do. I was still sceptical and when I went for my first session I was convinced that I wasn't really under...that was until I felt myself wake up some time later!!

I noticed a difference within myself very quickly and after only 8 hour long sessions I was able to leave (it does take longer for some people). My anxiety levels have decreased dramatically and I haven't had a panic attack for 5 years now since I had the therapy.

I occasionally still suffer from bouts of anxiety, but he taught me how to deal with it and all my sessions were taped so I can still listen to them if I need to.

I know that a lot of people rubbish hypnotherapy, but as I say I went into it sceptical and came out a changed person.

Don't let the panic attacks ruin your life, stand up to them.

I wish you all the luck in the world.

Don't worry i know how you feel. I have been through exactly what you have......................and come out the other side. I have suffered with a panic disorder for a lot of my life. I spent 6 mnth in my house, afraid to go out. Often afraid to leave my bed, so I wouldn't wash or eat for days or weeks. A lot of bad things have happened to me in my life, and my doctor explained; when you just carry on and ignore all the stress, sometimes when you stop and think it's all ok, all these things catchup with you 100mph. Wham! That's when mine started, when I finally settled down in a good job, with a lovely man. And it all got a whole lot worse when I fell pregnant, I had ante-natal+post-natal depression, could this be what is wrong with you?
Don't feel alone please e-mail me if you need someone to talk to. I know how you're feeling xx.

My mother was having a series pf panic attacks due to many dependant factors. She started to do breathing exercises, as recommended by her doctor. It took a while for the attacks to stop. It was like she had to retrain her physical response to the situation learn to observe what was happening to her breath without becoming absorbed in the intense emotions and physical reactions. It wasnt all the time she succeeded. she worked on the breathing exercises daily and went back to the technique when she sensed an oncoming attack, with patience and persistance the attacks subsided.

Its sounds to me as though your panic attacks are linked to becoming a mum.
I feel for you girl, I know what its like, mine started when I hit 12 and lasted until I was 28 which was when I decided I was going to take control of my life back.
You can go the doctor and they will prescibe anti depressants to suppress the physical syptoms of the panic attack but that doesnt take away the problem.
There is only one way to deal with it and thats to confront it.
Your doctor may be able to get you into cognitive behaviour therapy or, you can look up a good therapist in your area who deals with fear.
Just thinking about doing that may make you panic, I know, but you must if your ever going to regain control.
It worked for me, it WILL work for you. Best of luck

First off all are you sure they are definitely panic attacks. If not go and see your doctor. If they are you need to find out what is causing them. There is usually a reason, a phobia, stress, depression. Once you have an idea what is causing them go and see a behavioural therapist they help you think in a new frame of mind.

My girlfriend deals with this, it sucks I feel so bad for her no matter what you try to do or say it just isn't right. That's not my fault or her's just her condition. I couldn't imagine feeling like this all the time, I do have anxiety attacks, but I cause those myself because I'm weird sometimes, but my girlfriend has a lifetime to deal with this. She has started seeing a Dr. to talk to and take meds because without the meds she can't function in a normal everyday life as you are struggling to do.

I suffer from them myself hun your not alone. They are very scary to deal with. Anxiety attacks never really do go away but you should consider getting help for them,go to your doctor and tell him/her how you feel. Medication could help you if nothing else is working, maybe something in your life is making you have these. Are you stressed alot lately? Think about it. Getting help for them too will also help you live a good life with your daughter. Good luck!

i suffer mostly from anxiety disorder/social anxiety.......But i really love my son you know....Thats why i decided i should take action.Ive only been through it a year and now im gonna get on top of it...Ive got paxil which i have faith they are gonna help me conquer my fears. This is the only reason im doing this..Because i love my son so much and i want the best for him.And not some miserable mum who wont get out and about.Im thinking about going out more often seeking new friends of the same problems, taking my baby to a kindergarden for a half a day so he can interact with other kids and befriend......get support you know theres some out there. You just have to put your mind to it.Im only 19 years of age and in 1 year i learnt alot about responsibility and maturity.

I was having panic attacks after I lost a few people I was close to and my doctor prescribed my xanex (zanex). It helps a lot but makes you pretty drowsey. Your condition sounds like you might need treatment via anti-depressants though. I know this only because my primary care offered that to me as a solution to any daytime panic attacks I was having but I opted against it. I really need to call your primary care doctor and talk to him/her about what you are experiencing and they will hook you up with some pills that will help you out a lot.
