my son is going to Thailand to surf....has anyone ever surfed in Phuket? if so, are the waves any good? are there any surf shops there?

I don't think there are enough waves in Phuket to surf, at least where we were. Are you sure this is the real reason for his visit?

Phuket have to much waves,during their bad seson in June.

Kite surfing is more popular there than the usual kind. I wouldn't call it a dream location to go to if you are big on surfing.
