I agree you have to see the CN Tower.....
and you can spend your time shopping at the Eaton Centre or visit the path which is the largest underground mall in the world here is the link
http://www.toronto.ca/path/
And it links you to all the site seeing areas as well.
Shopping high end at Bloor West and yorkville, funky shopping Queen Street near the entertainment district as well (clubs and bars) Go on Yonge Street which is the Longest Street in the world.
You can visit old Chinatown and new Chinatown....
did you know Toronto has like 5 Chinatowns (the other 3 are located in Scarborough, Markham and Richmond Hill)
You can also visit Little Italy, India, Korea town, and many other ethnicities of the city.
Also The Distillery District
You can visit the Shoe Museum, Casa Loma, Hockey Hall of Fame and those kinds of things.....
you know what?
Check it out yourself.....

The best thing is to go up the CN Tower and take in the views.
Eat at the restaurants on the ground around the Tower, they are really good.
Take the trips to Niagara and cross the lake on a ferry or take the bus round the lake to New York.
Go shopping in the Eaton centre and buy gifts for back home from Eatons, Birks and The Bay.

The CN tower is probably number one, my top tip is not to go on the tourist trip up the tower but to book lunch in the revolving restaurant which is the floor above the tourist floor and the glass floor. This has a couple of benefits, firstly you don't queue with the masses waiting for a lift, you get your own private one! Secondly you get access to the tourist facilities as a guest of the restaurant so the meal may cost more than the admission fee but you get a lovely lunch/dinner and without the hassle! Book this on the day you arrive.
Others will go on about touring the sktdome and obviously going to Niagara but the tower is the main attraction.
Extra point, don't bother going behind the falls at Niagara, you don't see anything and get soaked, just go on the maids in the mist.

Take a walk down Yonge Street from Bloor street to Queen street. It has lots of interesting stores to check out. Eaton Centre is a big mall at Yonge and Dundas. There's always bands playing or something happening across the street at Dundas Square. You could have drinks at the Hard Rock Cafe - it's right there too.
Royal Ontario Museum and Science Centre are fun too. In the summer, check out Canada's Wonderland amusement park.

Stay downtown, check out the CN Tower (as suggested), visit Kensington Market, Eaton Centre, Yorkville, Royal Ontario Museum, and at night, check out the club district in the entertainment district which is also downtown.
Get around by subway, it'll make it easy to visit all these sites in a short period of time.

Depends what you want to do.
My favourite restaurant is Rodneys Oyster Bar. CN Tower is worth a visit if the weather is nice.
Good shopping downtown.
Also only an hour and a half by car from Niagra which is worth doing if you have never been there before.
