If I arrive very early, say 8 hours before a departing flight, is there somewhere to check luggage or use lockers at Shanghai Pudong Airport? For some unknown reason this international airport requires you to go through customs and immigration before departing on another international flight, on the same day! Check-in counters won't be open yet for my departing flight, but my arriving flight comes in too early. I do not wish to carry my bags all around with me for a few hours. The airport website is useless. Calling does not help either. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I was in Shanghai in June this year, and the lockers that I saw were not big enough for large pieces of luggage. But I'm not sure if you can check it at some other airport location. Try calling your airline, and they might be able to help....as I agree, most web-sites don't list that kind of information. Hopefully your airline is not an American airline, or they never will never know the information.

I did some checking at www.shairport.com & went to "services" at Pudong International Airport, and found the following:

Luggage Storage

Location Domestic Arrival Hall (Between No. 8-9 Door) Tel:68346324
International Arrival Hall (Between No. 10-11 Door) Tel: 68346078
International Departure Hall (Between No. 14-15 Door ) Tel: 68345035
Domestic Departure Hall (Between No. 5-6 Door ) Tel: 68345021
Service Time 6:00--Flight over
Related Policies Passengers should show the flight ticket and valid certificate before registration.

I hope this helps!

Shanghai is just a well-known international metropolis drawing more and more attention from throughout the world; therefore see what that city is offering with hotelbye . Shanghai is a well known vacation location for visitors. In Shanghai you will see the striking Yu Garden (Yù Yuán), also called the Garden of Happiness. That Garden covers a location greater than 20,000 square yards and includes an external and an internal garden. The oldest part could be the Outer Garden with more changes being manufactured in the 18th century when Sansui Tang, the park's main corridor, was added. The newer and much smaller Inner Garden days from 1709 and contains features typical of a classical Chinese writer's Garden: desirable little pavilions, ornamental stones, and miniature hill ranges, splitting surfaces and small lakes, and a good richly decorated theatrical stage.

those days, the SHA airport is major on kin flights. so if u fly to Beijing from Shanghai. then u ought to leave fr SHA no longer PVG. 4 region, PVG is way a lot some distance away than SHA. SHA is in simple terms placed in the approach the city. PVG.... even thou u bypass there commence fr Pudong......that's stil ake u over 45mins through taxi. if u taking bus, even longer. if fr the middle of the city like Nanjing Lu.... that's take u over 80-ninety minutes to PVG. n the flight fr SHA to Beijing = aro 2 hrs flying time. yet fairly some the doesmtic flights not on time. that's their habbit. regularly delay like a minimum of 30 minutes to an hour. u can in simple terms sit down of their airport & wait.
