Do we have all our teeth already in the gum/jaw when we are born?

Or are they made for a certain period of time then it stops???

Many teeth are present as "tooth buds" when you are born. All of the baby teeth are quite well developed. Many of the permanent teeth are in evidence, but not yet calcified.

The enamel is formed by cells called ameloblasts. These cells are what "injects" the mineral content into the crystal structure of tooth enamel as it is being deposited. When the tooth erupts and the enamel is visible, the ameloblasts are GONE.

The inner layer of tooth is formed by odontoblasts. These cells live throughout the rest of your life and add minute amounts of dentin inside the tooth for the rest of your life.

As and when our mouths are ready for teeth, the tooth fairy comes along and loans them to us.

The better you look after them, then the more money she will give you when she comes to take them back.

Lots of people let the dentist remove their teeth...this is why dentists are so rich, as they always have a tooth or two under their pillow at night!

Have you honestly never seen a baby? They don't have teeth yet! That's why when come in it's called "teething!" And weren't you a kid once? Do you not remember losing your baby teeth and having your permanent teeth grow in?

You are born with tooth "buds" that grow into teeth very gradually. There is a second set of "adult" buds under the first set.
Tooth buds can be taken from dead children and implanted in the mouths of rich old bastards who have not cared for their teeth properly.
The buds are "one-shot" - they produce a tooth and stop.
