It seems to me the greatest cause for insecurity is low self-esteem, tho' survivors of trauma may also suffer from a sense of insecurity.

The symptoms seem to fall into two categories: a feeling of inadequacy and/or a need to lash out at others.

How does your faith deal with people suffering from these problems?

We all get pushed around when little. This creates insecurity.
A feeling of not being safe.
That is why childen can be so cruel. They don't have the emotional maturity to deal with it. So they bully and ridicule, in order to keep others "at a distance". That is the issue. Most of our
behavour revolves around keeping others at a distance.
King Solomon said, "All is VANITY, and VEXATION of spirit."
That didn't mean things are "meaningless", as translated in
Newer Bibles. He was talking about vanity, egotism, false pride.
All the things we do as humans. Feeling sorry for ourselves,
acting bigger than we are, and pointing the finger at others.
Are just EGO trips.
"All is vanity and vexation of spirit." All we do, we do to try and make ourselves feel better. When in reality. When we behave that way toward others. It only makes us feel worse.

I have a strong faith but it doesn't make me feel less inadequate or increase my self esteem, but on the other hand I am not insecure I have a strong marriage and although I am on the larger size I don't have feelings of insecurity due to that my faith helps me feel at peace.

Its a form of fear, its not having any control over life, and we don`t have any control, but when you are a child of God you realize that, GOD has everything under control. do not fear what man can do to you, but fear what God can do to your body and soul.
