Thermoluminescence dating, estimates the Neanderthal age in BP's, (boiling point), not years. Recent theories place the so-called Neanderthal as living in Belgium just before "modern man", not 20,000 years ago. The tens of thousands of years are not likely, according to the latest information. It seems, they were upright, suffered arthritis, had hands like ours, and even mated with "modern man". Quite shocking. I think religion says the same as it always has... God created man. There is no dispute that man evolved from man.

Who cares what religion or the bible says, science is the best way we have of understanding our planet and how humans developed.

Creationists claim that all pre-homo sapien species are a difference race of homo sapien.

That said, neanderthals aren't in the homo sapien ancestory.
