Yeah cinema is a bad bad idea for a first date!!You have to sit in silence for 2 hours!!Whats the point??!A first date is about getting to know each other and you wont be able to if you are sitting in the cinema!!Go for a drink or maybe go bowling or ice skating!!Have fun x

Cinema is a bad idea as you can not talk to your date, a quite pub, coffee place or restaurant is always a good idea, by quite I do not mean no-one in, just one where you can sit in a corner and talk to each other with easy rather then shouting over the music.
Hope all goes well.

if its a first date its the first real time you've spent with each other(hypothetically anyway) so try and keep it short....about an hour or so...I know you might want to spend more time with her/him but its probably best to stay short in the beginning...try during your lunch break(if you have the same one) or for dinner...or whatever...heck if ya have a dog ask if they'd like. the movie thing is an alright idea but the general idea of a first date is to get to know the person....only person you're going to get to know if you go see a movie and talk for the whole thing is the big hairy guy in the row over who gets fed up with your talking...cant say i haven't done it (the movie thing that is) and it has worked so your call in the end.....hope this has helped in any way

I found the cinema to be a really good first date, because it gives you something to talk about. You don't however, get to find out much about them when you're in there, so go for lunch before, or for a drink or meal afterwards.

Well i personally think cinema is a crap first date - you want to chat and get to know a person all you do is sit there watching a film! i suppose it would be ok if you had dinner/drinks before or after.

First date, do something very different, fun, wild, with a twist of daring to it. The idea is to get her thinking Ur an exciting person...
I did Go-cart with my girl... After which u can unwind @ a quiet person and just talk, that way she thinks there's depth to u as well.
U can also try speed boating....

Why not go to a café?
For a walk in the park?
For a drink (but not a píss-up!)?
Cinema can be difficult if you don't know what each other's tastes in films are like.

An up-scale coffee shop or better yet Barnes & Noble. You'll see what each of you is interested in by the books and mags you look at -- a good way to see what you have in common. Then go for a nice early dinner at say TGIFridays -- they have nice date prices!!! If you like my answer best please vote for mine. Thank yuo! Have Lots of Fun !!!! Barbie
