The answers are as I though. You've seem to have rendered your life useless.

Hey keypointist: you may want to look up the word "platonic" before using in again.

Sadist Dave, you speak as if you know what I believe. I am a person of no particular faith. I believe Christians have squandered their existence on this earth as well. To believe as you do goes against the laws of physics however. Energy cannot be destroyed, it only transforms itself into another energy form. But thank you for judging me. I get that from the Christians too. I find little difference in either faith.

* We get buried.
* We rot.
* If our loved ones spring for a casket that hermetically seals, we explode from the gasses created while we decompose.
End of story

I would say it is you who have rendered your life useless.
You have one life, one brief fleeting moment in time, to live and do good in the world. Instead you follow a belief that says some people are better than others, and that you should hate people who are different than you. You will never know the beauty of simply accepting someone for the person they are as long as you insist that bronze age wisdom is the highest goal of man.
It's really too bad that when you die, you will only have oblivion just like everyone else. You will not even be able to reflect on all the things in life that you gave up for your belief in an invisible friend that does not exist. In death, you will not even know how you've cheated yourself of all that might have been, if only you had chosen to spend your time living your life to the fullest.
Frankly, I kinda feel sorry for you.

It's all over. The religions have turned a story of an after-life.into a 3 billion dollar a year business, selling false hope. to vulnerable people. If there is a heaven it's a boring place. Think about it. You don't have a body so you have no appetite, you just sit there and admire a man living in a cloud who can't get his religion act together(Boring). They don't have cable. Some will be playing the harp but, what if your stuck next to someone who plays the accordion? And you're going to do this for zillions of years? No Thanks

Life is what you make of it. It's sad that you would need to inject a fantasy element (god) into your life to give it any meaning. I'm an atheist. I believe when you die that's the end, there is no afterlife. I don't think this makes life pointless... in fact it makes it more special. You only live once, so live good and live it up.

Our physical manifestation breaks down to dust and our minds carry on existing in the Platonic realm.

Nothing. What happened before we were born? That's the same thing that happens once we die. It's eternal oblivion
