Hi anon!! :o) I like questions like this. [Because they make me think] As a Christian - many might assume that I would think it's perfectly OK to stand in the middle of a shopping mall and 'chat' openly with God. But like most people - I would probably assume that such a person is unbalanced and in need of some help. [Which might not be fair - but that's probably what I would think] The Bible tells us that we should pray in private - and maybe that's WHY. I'm probably unusual in the sense that I'm not 'quick' to assume that someone else's 'reality' is nonsense. If someone told me that they had an invisible friend - I'd asked to be introduced!! Have a great day!! Craig!! :o)

Because no one is going to have the non-PC to suggest that talking to God is crazy. Although clearly, it can be. Most of us will intone the name of the Creator and ask for special help from time to time, but if we walk around and carry on a conversation with an unseen God, the white coats will not be far behind. So you see, talking to God or talking to an invisible friend can be one in the same - nutso cracko. Depends upon the context in which the "conversation" is had.

Because we are human beings, we have the power to apprehend what really God is and remember we were created in His own image. So we pray to a real God in which we believe is a helper not an imagination or phantasy or making fun about. The fact that we cannot physically see God does not mean He is not existing amidst us but through personal reflection or prayer you communicate with him (that you believe is real God) not imagination. Talking to God and a invissible friend is different, please seek advice if these two are the same to you.

certainly, the Torah needless to say states, on diverse activities, that God develop into invisible. countless the oldest Jewish literature is amazingly adamant approximately that certainty, and to have faith in any different case develop into tantamount to blasphemy. Adam and Eve *heard* God, and that's as close as you may get to an define of every person encountering a visual Deity contained in the Hebrew Scriptures. the only situation, of direction, is (as pupils safeguard) that the advent epic in Genesis develop into by no potential meant to mirror historic activities.

This is where you've got to get smart and make sure you name you invisible friend Jesus or God even if he/she is really a silly clown or a twinkly pony because then you'll be safe from the men in white coats, however it will now be the men in white collars you'll have look out for.

Talking to an invisible friend is detachment from reality. Talking to God is acknowledgement of the ultimate reality.

That presupposes God has ears - I really don't know about that. What I know though is that we humans are so Ignorant about the universe / multi-verses that Ignorance ought to be the standard and not knowledge - after all we are confined to an infinitesimally small point in the realm of things. Just Imagine and you will agree with me that IGNORANCE and not knowledge defines us better!

How many so -called Saints or Prophets are responding to voices they hear in their heads?
Just because a voice inside you claims to be God doesn't make it so.
I think it is strange that many people accept the voice of God but would lock you up if you claimed to hear other things.

Because people throughout history(and alot smarter than either of us) have felt "god" at times.
You and your invisible friend are pretty much alone.
