Pinnacle Studio software for transfering as well as the hook up.. This will make your life a whole lot easier. I found it on Geeks.com for a good price. Check out this site http://www.jdoqocy.com/click-2142836-10439079?cm_ven=CJ&cm_cat=1873503&cm_pla=2142836&cm_ite=Keyword1. Once on site type in Pinnacle Studio 500 PCI Video Input Adapter.

Or you can try it here http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-1751-2978-71/1?AID=5463217&PID=2147904&mpre=http%3A//search.ebay.com/Pinnacle-Studio-500-PCI_W0QQcatrefZC6QQcoactionZcompareQQcoentrypageZsearchQQcopagenumZ1QQfromZR10QQfsooZ1QQfsopZ1QQftrtZ1QQftrvZ1QQsacatZQ2d1QQsaprchiZQQsaprcloZQQssPageNameZRC0021 possibly cheaper.

Hei, connect your cam with AV out cable or USB cable to the computer. Use Intervideo software for capturing and burning tools.

You need the proper firewire connection to import from mini-dv to your PC. You can then use a video editing/DVD authoring program to transfer the video to your media of choice (VCD or DVD)
