I eat a fairly healthy diet, exercise moderately, and I usually get 6 1/2 to 7hrs sleep a night, but as the week goes on I feel increasingly more tired, so that by Saturday all I want to do is sleep!

How can I boost my energy levels? I'm fed up of wasting my days off catching up on sleep!!!

Perhaps because it's 3 am PST. Most normal people are fast asleep at this time.

I have the same problem, I go through stages when I am on top of the world with tons of energy and then I am flat and I can't get my butt out of bed.

I try to get at least 7-8 hours sleep a night, but the most important thing is not to eat anything after 8pm. This tends to sit in my stomach and even though I think I have slept, I still feel tired the whole next day. You will wake up with low blood sugar levels, and even though breakfast (must eat breakfast!!!! it makes a huge difference) will increase these levels again, you are already on a rollercostar ride for the day!! I used to hate eating breakfast, but now I force myself and always feel better for it. It helped me loose weight too!

By attempting to go to bed and wake up around the same time each day, I have sort of trained my body into when I should and shouldn't be awake. Drink tea instead of coffee in the morning-less cafeine, less of a rebound in blood sugar levels in the afternoon.

If I have bread or pasta for lunch, I am asleep at my desk or on the tube by 3pm, so I tend to have a salad with meat or eggs. I am in no way saying low carb (bad for your kidneys), but protein helps stabilise the blood sugar levels which prevent the low slumps in blood sugar that afternoon.

Drink water too, all chemical reactions in the body happen in water, so if there isn't enough, everything is going to be sluggish!

If all else fails, I have been known to ask my GP for a course of Vit B12 and B-co injections. They make your mouth taste funny, but they do give you a little boost to help you get over the tiredness phase.

Good luck!

you might be aneamic (low iron levels)?

might be worth seeing your doctor and getting tested, and taking an iron supplement if that is the case (cheaper over the counter than prescribed although if there is a deficiency the iron in everyday multi vits will not be a high enough dose so you have to ask pharmacist for it).

There could be other causes, like bad sleep, thyroid prblems etc etc, be aneamia is pretty common and easily rectified in most cases. Being pale isn't always a definitive sign!

Anyway go and see your GP, it's some thing they won't fob you off about.

Check out Advanced Cell Therapy. I was getting tired often. After lunch, I would want to take a nap everday. It is a powder that you add to water. I use 1/2 a package with 8 ounces of water in the morning and 1/2 a package with 8 ounces of water after lunch. I get a feel good, alert type of energy. I don't get a rush or a kick. It is just kind of subtle. You can get more information at http://www.drinkact.com/pktull

going on that information, I would say you possibly don't eat enough energy boosting foods, probably too low in fat. also you need to try and get more sleep. Never stay up after midnight unless you have to, as sleep before midnight is more beneficial, & try to get 8 hours a night. A great energy boosting snack is multigrain crispread with peanut butter, or a mini babybel. Also scrambled or poached eggs on wholemeal toast. Sprinkle seeds on your cereal & salads-holland & barrett do loads of sprinkle seed mixtures, they really work. Hope this helps :)

I would go to your GP and get checked out for things like diabetes and iron deficiency. Both of these things can cause excess tiredness
ps ignore USA-centric answers - they don't realise that there are other countries with other time zones. ;0>

you should take some supplement like vitamin B, garlic, or vitamin C in your daily life. although you eat a healthy diet, exercise, sleep 7 hrs, if you dont take supplement you'll get tired.

It could just be something as simple as your not having a good diet thats making you so tired! Try changing what you eat and that could help!
