Maybe everyone over about 28 looks old to you. It's quite possible that these "old" people are busy working all week and can only make it on Saturdays. You'd better get used to the idea of there being more and more of them in the queue as the present government forces them to work until the age of 70!

Because, like me, they might have been taking advantage of the less crowded weekdays at the local airfield to go skydiving, and to fly light aircraft and sailplanes, as well as enjoying the mid week discounts at restaurants. Also, as some one has already said above, many are often still working.
Just remember that you, too, will be old one day and standing in that post office queue (line). So learn to be tolerant.
That old bloke you have standing in front of you in the post office might have served in WW2, risking his life to ensure that you now have the freedom to whinge about 'old people in the post office on a Saturday'.

What do you mean by old? 70, 80 more - less. In this day and age a lot of older people work and that means they run errands on Saturday. If they are very old they have to get a ride from children or neighbors who work and take them on Saturday. I hope they do not inconvenience you too much. You should be so lucky as to get old.

Very often this is the only time when their grown-up children can take them shoppping.
It gives 'old people' the opportunity to catch up on family times together, to meet with their friends and even to have a taste of a little bit of life outside their home.
For the rest of the week, too many older people can only stay at home, sitting alone watching television, hoping perhaps for the telephone to ring.
For far too many in our society, old age equates to lonliness and isolation.

Old people have formed themselves into squadrons to annoy the hell out of the rest of the 'younger' generations. This involves holding up the queues at shops, post-offices, railway ticket offices etc by asking questions, talking slowly, pretending they didn't hear the answer and not having any money ready. They also form huge crowds of 3 or 4 to walk slowly on pavements holding everyone else up. On top of this they are always at the doctors and in the hospital - but hey - they gotta have a hobby!

Define old. I may be getting up there in years, but Saturday is still errand day, because I work a 40 hour work week.
