I think you are on them for life, pretty much.

However, you will need to talk with your doctor about this. Some people have problems with their medications and need to come off them or have them changed.

Many people find a nice stable dose and stick with it for many many years.

This is definitely something you need to discuss with your psychiatrist or doctor of some sort.

It sounds like you are doing well.. and perhaps your doctor will suggest a trial of reducing the dosage SLOWLY and see how you go - that will also mean less of a shakiness that you'd get if you stopped cold turkey..

Nonetheless it's best you ask your doctor before proceeding with anything at all.

And at the end of the day if you do stay on meds for a longer period of time it's not the end of the world.. I have been on Zoloft for 5 years on and off and it does me the world of good.. I hope someday I'll be able to manage without it.. but if not, it's just like an medical condition, if you have diabetes, you take insulin, if you have depression, you take anti-depressants..

Hope that helps! :)

NEVER stop your meds without telling your doctor. The doctors know what can happen if you do stop immediately and the most important question is why do you want to? Do you not agree with the diagnosis or do you think that the disease will just go away on its' own? You really need to talk with your doctor as your doubts seem pretty serious. Good luck, Suzanne

You should follow the advice of your Dr, they will know what is best for your current treatment. Talk to them about how you are feeling, that you want to come off of your meds, and they may be able to lower the dose or change you on to a different medication. They may also prescribe you and antiemitic to stop you feeling nauseous.

DO NOT stop your meds. It doesn't go away after any amount of time.

Do not stop it yourself. Talk to your doctor and taper it off if he agrees.
