Or maybe thinking "one day i'll have that disease" and you get it. Is it really possible? Does mind over matter exist when it comes to disease?

Just a little thing to mention. Farrah Faucett, former Charlie's Angel, has cancer. She used to be the spokesperson for the American Cancer Society back in the 70's. Kate Jackson AND Jaclyn Smith, the other two angels, also had cancer. Ryan O'Neal, Farrah's former lover, had leukemia. Does cancer have a tendency to reach so many people in a very coincidental way?

It will not actually give you the disease, but the mind is a very powerful thing and if you actually convince yourself you are sick, you may develop symptoms of the disease. As someone stated earlier, many people cry wolf, then when they really are sick no one believes them...this is called a hypochondriac. Then there are those people who actually make themselves sick to gain attention. This is called Munchausen Syndrome. Believe it or not there are people out there who will make their children sick also. They do this for attention also, so that they will look like a hero when they nurse their child back to health. This is called Munchausen by Proxy.

I knew this girl who always thought she had one illness after another, you mention scarlet fever she got it. She spent so much time in the hospital that the doctors stopped examining her and just let her stay for a day or two. The last time she went in of stomach pains they ignored her, three months later she died of stomach cancer. You either got a disease or you don't but to worry about it is silly if the doctors tell you that you are healthy.

NO pure coincidence unless all the people were getting radiation exposure or another cancer producing substance at the same time.
