Delete all temporary internet files
Run a registry cleaner, this will delete registry entries that are no longer valid or working (back up the registry first incase something goes wrong)
Increasing the amount of space used for you virtual page files can also help, also changing the theme of the desktop IE using the windows classic skin instead of the normal XP skin can help speed things up.
Check the Task Manager for unneccessary processes (this takes practice)
Increasing the amount of RAM by installing better RAM chip sets (ie, instead of 128 MB install 256 or 512 MB Chip sets)
theres tons more and only so much space, but this should give you a good head start.

Hi Ajit.
Make sure you:
Start-Run-type "%temp%" which wil take you to the Temp folder. Keep deleting this folder regularly.
Remove programs that you do not use.
If you know how to selecively start a computer, tick off all the uneccessary progs.
Defrag once in 5-6 months.
