Yeah, when I was a kid I used to dream about sitting at a desk from 9 till 5 being shouted at by my boss, filling out mundane spreadsheets and making payments all day.
I used to fantasise about preparing an account ledger and preparing minutes for the latest meeting.
Sometimes I used to be naughty and sneak into my dad's office and just type a letter to a client chasing fees in the middle of the night, it was such a rush!!!
Hopefully you can detect the sarcasm but it's not all bleak. In my spare time I pursue my dreams, I have dived on the great barrier reef in Australia, jumped out of a plane at 14,000ft, bungee jumped the highest bungee jump in the world in South Africa, learnt how to snow board and water-ski etc
Personally, I work to live, I don't live to work.

Well , I don't do it anymore (retired ), but when I did work , I loved it. I worked for the Air Force, quit to raise my children and in my early 40's made a change in my life. I went back to college and learned to be a floral designer. Every day was different. Every day I had a chance to use my creative skills. I worked with beautiful flowers everyday, interacted with people in the most important times of their lives and created memories for them. A very stressful job, but a very rewarding one. I wish I could still do it.

I very much doubt that any of us are... and those that claim otherwise are not only deluding us...
Sorry to say this.. but at 43 I still don't know what I want to do when I grow up!
I certainly have absoultely no idea how I ended up managing refuse and recycling for a district council in Worcestershire!

well in my case i am not satisfied by my present job, i can do better than my boss, but i have no chance to show my skills, and if the question is off childhood memoirs, then still no, i wanted to become something else and i have turned into something else.

Except for musicians, writer and painters and such hardly anyone does what they actually wanted to do. This is a fact. If anyone says "I always wanted to be a businessman" or "I always wanted to be a police", it's bull.
