I have a cute little dog. I don't think it's normal. But then, I'm scared of roaches, and they're even smaller.
Mine is a phobia, but I'm not going to try and cure it, since there's nothing to be gained from roaches' company.
You may want to get over your phobia of dogs. They are wonderful when you get to know them. You can tell them anything, and they always listen and look interested. They are sad when you're sad, and happy when you are. If you can cure your phobia, the reward of befriending a dog will be worth the trouble. Not to mention you won't embarass yourself when you flee from a little puppy.

yes it is normal it is closly related to fear of the unknown where ur scared but unsure why my daughter if nearly 7 and she has had a fear for about 5 years of dogs [big small cute ugly] as she thinks they are all gonna tear her to bits we have had all types of animals including dogs[from 6 weeks of age to older quieter dogs] but her fear is real if u want to get over ur fear see a therapist as my sister inlaws has been seeing one for years about her fear of dogs and now she has come top the stage when she can pat one and pick up a puppy

were you around dogs as a young kid? could be you had a bad experience with one. There are a lot of people who are afraid of dogs. Usually though it is attributed to some dog in their life

I think that when you wre young you saw someone scared of dogs and you learned that from them.
It's easy to learn not to be scared of them. Most dogs would never hurt you.

You would think no, but it happens. My cousin has a massive pit bull and my cousin himself is a big (buff) guy. He has no problem around big dogs, but when he picks us his daughter from my house he wont even come in because he is afraid of my 40lb Shar Pei.
Personally I think its amusing!!!

No, it's not "normal" but it happens. Therapy should help.
