Puppies can not tolerate plain cow's milk, but only goat milk..It also needs a better diet than only rice and milk..Lentils and goat milk would be better..Do make sure (force) liquids, with a bit of honey or dark corn syrup to keep him from dehydrating...If you have Gatoraid where you live, it would be best..Then when you can get him to eat a little, bring cow's milk to a boil, skim off the film, (that is the part he can not digest) and feed with lentils or chicken meat..

Interesting question. To be honest my views haven't changed at all and I'm just as angry about puppy mills and the wrong people having weapon dogs as I ever was. I think the most insightful thing I've learned about dogs over the last ten years is how Calming Signals work. I'd always kind of known what they were trying to say with their basic body language but wasn't getting the finer details, It's great when a penny or two drops like that. I'd make Turid Rugasss' little book "On Talking Terms With Dogs" essential reading for anyone adopting a dog, and maybe a Christmas present for everyone else with dogs in their lives including traditional trainers and even vets! Your secondary question about spending a day with a PETA rep or someone with misguided ideas about dogs is also interesting. In the case of the PETA person it could be a futile exercize because they are brainwashed and only see the end result as being what matters. They'd need to be engaged with on their own terms at their own level with the only hope being that when mud is trown at least a little of it sticks. People who are genuinely misguided about dogs either via lack of expereince or education, and perhaps peer pressure, are usually the ones who only need to see the faintest chink of light for an insight to dawn.

Get the dog to a vet and feed it premium quality pet food. Our pets need quality pet food. Read the ingredients list and learn what the stuff on there is and what it does (or does not do) to/for our pets. A quick pet food 101. If the pet food contains corn/corn products or by products it is a poor quality food. Do not pay attention to advertising, they all say there food is great. Corn is a filler that can trigger skin problems. (allergies, skin problems, itching and excessive shedding) By products is anything from an animal not fit for human consumption, including cancerous tissue. Quality foods have meat as the first ingredient. California Natural, Solid Gold, Innova and Merrick are a few of the best brands available. Check water for purity. Ascertain previous food regime. Check adulteration of milk. Check for worm infestation. If loose motions are coupled with rise in temperature, check for bacterial infection. If there are pustules on abdomen, check for distemper. Pls. consult at least a graduate veterinarian.
1) Recoup water loss & electrolyte imbalance at an earliest.
2) Prefer gut active anbiotic or sulphonamide therapy as per the need.
3) Conservative therapy in case of distemper
a) cold coffee
b) dressing of lesions on abdominal skin.
c) antibiotics coupled with B-complex to check secondary infection.Vit.A,C,etc will also be supportive.

This puppy is dying! TAKE THE PUPPY TO THE VET NOW!!!!!Puppies cannot handle milk you have been starving the puppy and not taking very good care to see that he gets the vitamins and minerals he needs to grow. Rice and milk are terrible for puppies.

Please take the puppy to a vet. It really does need to be examined and you need a qualified opinion. Don't wait.
