Wisdom teeth alway hurt when they are growing in. If they are impacted or infected, have them removed. It is not a bad idea to have the removed anyway.

Wisdom teeth often erupt crooked and are called "impacted" teeth. Even when they erupt normally, there is some pain during the eruption.
So, if you are around 20 to 25 yrs with newly erupting third molars, it just might be the eruption pain. However, they still might land up being "impacted".
An impacted tooth can cause the adjacent tooth to decay faster, and may lead to spreading infection among other problems.
As a professional (i am a maxillofacial surgeon) i would suggest that you get them checked with a dentist or a maxillofacial surgeon to determine the best course of action.
If they are crooked or impacted in any way, the best thing would be to have them removed before they cause more problems. It is easier done at a younger age rather than waiting for problems to occur and then getting them removed.
Hope this answers your query!

This is a personal choice many dentists i have worked for have informed patients that they don't really have a purpose apart from causing pain. Wisdom teeth have been known to appear to be coming through and then go back into the gum this is were alot of people find discomfort due to it reoccouring only to go back down again. and it has a high probability to cause decay and make teeth crocked if you have no room for it to coome through personally i would have them removed as i have done.

If they are causing you pain, have them removed now. You will probably have to have them removed eventually, so they don't crowd your other teeth.

Yes. The pain may be a sign that it is already rotten and needs to be pulled out. Good luck to you.
