As a Muslim, I feel he shouldn't have reneged his duty. That is taking it too far. He should behave as a Professional Police Officer carried out his duty diligently despite his personal reservations.
Also, people who migrate to another country, Muslim or otherwise, should try to learn and accept the norms and culture of the new country instead of forming their own enclave.
But that's just me.

i agree, the immigrants are taking over this country and its about time we closed the doors to the lots of them, why cant some of the other E.U countries take them in.
There is an old saying "when in rome do as the romans" some of these immigrants in this country should adhere by that and stop trying to convert us to their ways. Also something should be done about the number of somalies we have in the uk now, they have no interest in mixing with other races and are as ignorant as hell.
Sorry end rant.........

Can we get rid of half-wit half-literate morons like you instead?
As a police officer he will have taken an oath to protect. He reneged on that. At the very least he should be removed from the Diplomatic Protection Unit.
Given he appears unwilling to keep to his oath, I'd suggest sacking him. The police should not be able to pick and choose who they protect. Should we allow Jewish and Christian policemen to choose not to protect mosques? How about Protestant policemen opting out of protecting Celtic fans?
