The catholic church is a church that will combine with Islam and other religions to form a global church known as the whore of Babylon as described in Revelation that will exist before the return of Christ.

Actually, this happened mostly in the 1980's. Largely it occured for two reasons. At that time, psychologists believed pedophilia was the most treatable psychological ailment they saw. And that observation was valid because everyone they saw was voluntarily coming to them. As it turns out, forced counseling is useless and all you do is turn a dangerous person back into society. No one realized that at the time. The second reason they were moved was to make it easier to monitor them. Kicking them out or defrocking them means the Church no longer can monitor their behavior at all. They end up as angry unemployed men loose in society. The Church wants to avoid that.

The Catholic Church has since learned that both were bad ideas and has ended the practice of letting them remain in parish ministry and has policies in place regarding the protection of children.

An important observation is that the incidence of pedophile priests was 1/6th that of the general population but that a culture of silence permitted them to move around and manipulate the system. Pedophiles as a population tend to enter into occupations that involve children, particularly teaching and coaching. The Catholic Church is reasonably good at keeping pedophiles out of the priesthood in the first place, but that also means those people who don't become priests are still out there only they teach elementary school or coach little league. The Boy Scouts have had the same problem and the public schools too.

The Catholic Church is different in that it constitutues 40% of all Christians in the US. There is no other group of comparible size. The incidence of pedophilia in the other denominations is the same or in those that do not oversee ordination like some of the free churches, higher. But because there are literally tens of thousands of small denominations no one group gets repeated news coverage.

They want everyone to go to the heaven they speak of and don't pass judgment like their bible teaches. Catholics forgive and forget without pondering the idea of true forgiveness.
