pungent, hate by itself, love when it's in pizza.

Some people don't like the look of them so are repulsed- before they've even eaten an anchovy. But, slip a few under the cheese on their pizza + they love the taste- but they don't know what it is. They always comment!
You can have too many on a pizza though- probably because of it's salty taste.
Choose black olives to go with anchovy- a complimentary pair of aces!
Not everybody has the same taste buds- nevertheless if you give somebody the chance to try something new- like anchovy- and they don't go blind- they'll keep coming back for more.
Try anchovy with lamb and rosemary and garlic- sublime.

Anchovies are the worst possible thing to put on a pizza. When you open up a can the whole place (and your hands) smells like them for the rest of the day: Rotten fish!! I HATE everything about anchovies!!

People know they are fish and automatically say "I don't like fish" when they have never tried them, i really believe in Britain that our palate is really bland, and also we are too scared to try new things, if something is not familiar people will shy away from trying it. I use anchovies with lamb, I know it sounds gross, but if you add them in to the sauce it adds a richness you cannot get from anything else, I found the trick is don't tell people what you have added to the sauce.

Cos basically its a very strong taste. I dont like dried anchovies, like the ones they put on pizza, they r too salty for my taste, but i love fresh ones that have been marinated.........ummmmmmm god my mouth is now watering, will have to go down to sainsburys soon and get some....;)

I think part of the reason people don't like them is becuase they're very salty and have little bones. But if you cook them with tuna fish in a tomatoe and vegetable sauce they are anmazing on pasta. My favourite is stratight from the jar on toast. Yummy!

I love them along with Anchovies Essence. I sneak them into food I make for my fiance and he loves them, but if I told him they were in there he would run a mile!!
