perhaps you're comparing all the new girls you meet to the old one?

Perhaps you shouldn't be looking for 'the one' right now. Are you sure that you don't have any personal developing to do, maybe learn some more about yourself. After a 4 year relationsip you may not be the person you were when you entered it. my suggestion to you would be stop looking for 'date material' Women are not objects, make friends with some girls that you wouldn't generally consider to be 'date material'. Because you need to take some time to get to know yourself, and no 9 months is not enough. You may find that someone you never thought you would be happy with could make you the happiest man on earth, remember, looks are temporary, the soul is eternal...

Your standard is too high which is not a bad thing. You are just reluctant to go into another relationship because you are afraid of making the same mistakes twice. You should take things as they come, loosen up a bit. When you meet a chick see her for her and don't look for qualities that she might or might not have of your ex. That is it really simple. If you want, I'll be your girlfriend. I am definitely date material.

Well it takes time. Just have fun and do your thing and maybe the right girl will stumble upon you. Don't go looking for love, let it happen. That sounds like something weird but honestly that is how a lot of people find their perfect somebodies. Good luck to your woman searching and remeber what Lily said...

Maybe you are comparing all the girls....to the one you had a 4 year relationship with? Forget about her and try dating someone different.

I dont know what it is. I broke up with my X 3 yrs ago and I have dated guys here and there and nothing. No spark or real interest. Most of the time they just start irritating me or I get bored of them. I am in the same boat. Just play it by ear. :)

Maybe you keep running ginto the same type as your ex and you get promply disapointed. Keep looking. Eventually you will change enough and won't run into the same type over and over again.
Another possiblity - you are not really looking for a date material yet. You are still not over your ex. You keep telling yourself you're looking, but really you are not.

I dunno man. After I broke up with my first/last boyfriend about 2 1/2 years ago, I've only found one guy who I was interested in, and he didn't like me back. I'm not even looking for "the one". I'm just looking for someone to kiss and hug and have fun together with! guess it's just hard to find someone ya click with. We'll find 'em though, sooner or later! lol

For strangers or human beings i don't understand so properly. only a 'whats up' or 'hi' with an exceedingly elementary smile or immediately face is sweet. in the different case I little nudge in the arm who a ****** up face with a louder "whats up" or "whatsup?" is sweet.
