No churches that feature speaking in tongues, because it's creepy. And don't go to small churches, they tend to get more involved in your business than they need to be.

First go to the website below and watch the video. Are you a new believer or new to the area you are in? Do you truely believe? Ask God to find you a Church home. He will send you to the right place. Be patient. Listen for the Holy Spirit. You also must be grounded in the Bible. Old King James is the best. If you want a newer one, The only one I know that is somewhat safe is the NASB.

The video is important because these are the last days and the false church is now in control of most of Christendom.

You may be offended at some of the things said in the film, but please listen before coming to a judgement. God bless.

The best way to find a church is to began visiting the ones closest to you. It will help your walk with God to be a part of a community of believers that actually lives in your community. You will see their smiling faces more often, have easier access to your brothers and sisters in Christ when you need them and you can make a spiritual impact on your own neighborhood. Look for certain signs of a healthy church. There should be people of different spiritual growth, showing you that there are seasoned prayer warriors as well as new believers. If you can't find any new believers in a church, it may not be doing the Lord's work. If it is all new believers, it may not have the foundation it needs to stay strong in faith. Also look for opportunities to serve. A healthy church always has ways for the congregation to help out. The sermons should be biblical and the church staff should be willing to answer any questions or pray with you.
God Bless!

The most important thing in any church is that it is bible based. You need to pray about it and trust your own feelings. A true preacher will be prepared to back up ANYTHING he preaches with bible scripture, so don't be afraid to ask if something doesn't seem right to you. And most importantly, read your bible. The NIV is a good translation to use.
I am currently trying to find a new church and went to one that a few friends go to but I wasn't comfortable with some of the aspects of it so I am off to try another one. Trust God-really open your heart up to Jesus and He will lead you.
Good luck

Methodist, Anglican, Catholic and what have you ever are non secular homes and non secular human beings. some might want to correctly be authentic christian. there is in elementary words one Christian Church and that's call the body of Christ beside many different references,; as an social gathering: The Temple of God, The Bride of Christ and Zion-the recent Jerusalem. there is in elementary words one individual who's progression God's Church-The Holy Spirit it quite is likewise the Spirit of Christ . Believers are in simple terms channel and conduit for God's Holy Spirit to flow through to do His Will. even as The Lord Jesus is on the marketplace in the midst of His brethren on the appointed time, maximum of those non secular and so said as guy's church homes will be out of date and keep in mind no extra.

i would suggest that you go to the churches in your area. and attend each for 5 weeks and see what you think of each of them and then pick one based on how you felt about them.

not only is each faction of Christianity different but each individual church is different from any other.

Find one that does not push you into any beliefs you don't feel as right or true; one that listens to questions; one the encourages people to read, study and find out stuff for themselves; one that encourages you to grow in your faith without dictating stuff to you.

That was my basic list when I went looking.

Link is to the group of churches that my one belongs...

I would suggest that you learn on your own by reading the Bible on your own time. That way you will be able to follow your heart and worship in your own way. As far as tithes and offerings is concerned, give it to the poor. It's better to lead yourself to heaven than a preacher(telling untruths) leading you to hell. All preacher aren't bad, but I'd rather learn things for myself.
