Kefer, Sometimes the things of God are a mystery to us. I believe you can have the spirit of God inside you... but you can also be baptized in the Holy Spirit.. Let me explain as best I can.. I was baptized with water when was quite young and was a believer but I didn't experience the power of God until I was baptized in the Holy spirit. Mark 1:18 says "I baptize you with water but the one coming after me will baptize with the Holy Spirit. You may not get the fullness of the spirit until you ask for it. Some people believe this is the evidence of speaking in tongues, and other gifts.. Perhaps God has blessed you in some special way.. For instance the discernment of spirits. gift of healing and ect...

there is a divine spirit and will you could say, which is more or less the same as what it sounds like you mean by "spirit of god"

and the short answer is yes. even on this site I've seen at least one "testimony" where someone said they were atheist once, in a horrible situation, and pleaded to god as a last ditch effort... and actually got an answer, enough to convince them and they said they became religious after that.

the longer aspect would be that it has to be an honest thing, not a "I'm going to prove those silly people wrong" going through the gestures without heart type thing.

I'm not christian btw.

The Bible says the Holy Spirit is given to believers and speaks only Of Jesus or things related to Jesus and God the Father. The Holy Spirit is real. If you haven't ever felt his presence or been convinced of hiss reality it could be because of a lack of faith or sins you haven't repented of. We must yield to Jesus and cut out all things that are ungodly. "Friendship with the world is enmity with God." This means you make yourself God's enemy in a way and he hides his face from you. Ask God to reveal your sins to you in case you are doubleminded somewhere. God bless you.

Forget religion. The holy spirit is there for all who believe in Jesus. Believing in Jesus is not a religion.

Someone can believe in God and not have a religion.
