Their prices are competitive and they can provide cover during any refurb or renovation work.
If the property is secure (good quality window and door locks) they will even provide cover for theft and malicious damage (most Insurance for empty properties will only provide for following fire, lightning or explosion only! - be sure of what you are getting).

For Unoccupied Property insurance in the UK I would recommend trying the Broker Portals quotation request service.
The Broker Portal will take your details and arrange for a specialist Unoccupied Property Insurance Broker to make contact with you and discuss your requirements. It save you time and money.
Good luck.

contact a local agency. they can write a policy on a vacant dwelling for anywhere from 1-12 months depending on how long you need it. you are right to get this and it is a vacant dwelling policy, not a homeowners policy. there is a BIG difference in coverage, so be sure the agent goes over what is and is not covered with you.

You need a Vacant Dwelling Insuance Policy. Many agents sell them. Check with your personal insurance agent.

Lloyds of London does that, but it's the most expensive place I know of for vacant properties.
