I'll be honest, I didn't like teaching kindergarten, at first. It took me a few months to like it. But once they became used to the routine, as well as me, I began to love and understand kindergarten. I enjoy the curriculum. I think that it's a grade where I still have some freedom for creativity within the curriculum and standards. The parents of kindergarteners are still involved and dedicated to the classroom. At this grade level, a teacher can really see the growth from the beginning of the year to the end. From children not knowing letters to being able to read by the end of the year. The improvement is amazing and motivating. This age group is honest and so much fun! You will get as much out of this age group, as you put it. It is a lot of work, but worth it!

I love teaching because of the show of gratitude of my students whenever they learn something new, or they had fun while learning, etc. The younger children are honest and they mean whatever they say. So when my students make a drawing for me or give me a hug before they go home, I don't feel exhausted at the end of the day. I feel fulfilled.
