Maybe your body is trying to tell you something. That you might be oversleeping. Try sleeping for 7 hours the next 7 days, and see how you feel.

There is nothing wrong if you sleep more than 8 hours a day. Because you are having lot of free time and no anxiety. It is only a habit. It is better to restrict within 8 hours. If you really want to reduce sleep do -
Take less food
Take lot of water and you will wake up after about 6/8 hours for urinating and after that do not sleep.
Do not go to bed immediately after food.
Go for walking when ever your feeling your stomach full.
Have some diversified activities. Whenever you feel sleepy start doing some simple exercises.
You have to change your habit and it will hardly take 15-20 days and then you will be alright.

Yes! Too much sleep is bad for you too! A person needs on average 8 to 10 hours of solid, deep sleep in a 24 hour period. That's the healthiest! Even as little as 6 hours every 24 hours will work but that's still not quite enough sleep. Don't take anything to stay awake. Your not listening to your body when you seek things to help you stay awake. Take care of your body! Listen to it. Yes, it does talk to you! Listen, you'll hear it and when you do, you'll know what's healthy for it! Don't force yourself to stay awake for too long. That's bad and very unhealthy if it's an on going thing!

After 8 hours of sleep, one should feel recharged and energetic.
(Barring any disease or illness) If you are still sleepy and
lethargic, the level of your energy is low - meaning you are not getting enough nutrition. You should eat more - protein, veggies and fruits. Also take a multi-vit and min.

i feel the same way, when i slept more than 8hrs, it makes me feel more sleepy.
if you are sleeping more 8hrs often, then you will be a little bit lazy, to make you feel more awake, try sleeping at least 8hrs a day.
do not sleep right after dinner, have an hour rest before sleeping.
wake up immediately after 8hrs sleep, start your daily routine.
have a more than 8hrs sleep at least once a week.

More sleep is better, between 8 and 10 hours is good for you. If you are consuming caffiene, stop immediately. It is a stimulant, and when the effects wear off, you get really tired because the drug has unnaturally extended your awareness during waking hours.

Too much of ANYTHING is bad for you. Even good things. I got lots of the sleep the other night & it did me good. I have eczema & it helped my skin. When I don't get much sleep tho, my face tends to flair up. I went in to work today & a co-worker said, "Funny how your face cleared up after one day". I kinda laughed... cuz it sure didn't feel like my skin was any better. In fact, it still felt kinda dry. After looking in the mirror tho, I noticed that my skin did improve...
But yeah, too much of anything is bad for you. (guessing that I'll get a thumbs down just cuz this relates to eczema :s :( )
